There's a lot of people here who can't tell the difference between six feet and 2 feet or six inches. I'll ask them to back up, if they don't ask again, then they get "Back the fuck up bitch/asshole", that gets their attention and usually a few comments. But fuck them, it's not my fault they're an idiot. I go the grocery store about every 2 weeks now, 2 days in a row. I'll buy the limit on ground beef, chicken, pork product each time. Also buy several packs of pasta, pasta sauce, and whatever else I'll need to have enough food for two weeks.

I did go to one grocery store, and picked up three packs of bottled water. The cashier that was watching over the self checkout decided to tell me that there was a limit of one pack per person, the signs in the aisle said three. I pointed this out, and asked her why she didn't say anything to the other shopper that was buying three. She said she was telling me I could only get one, told her to get fucked, scanned the waters. I really feel there was same racism involved there.

It's also really disconcerting when people don't wear masks, or have a mask but they pull down below their nose or mouth.

I've been ranting about wearing masks on FB for the last couple of days and I'm still getting people I otherwise respect telling me to stop mask-shaming and it's their right to not wear one. I may end up losing relatives over this shit.

Was at the grocery yesterday and saw more people either not masked up or with it pulled under their chin. Stupid is as stupid does.

I saw my neighbor, who's a nurse, leave for work the other day. She stopped and rolled down her window to chat across the street first. She looked like hell, with a kerchief over her hair, N95 facial marks, and a haggard, resigned expression. I think she works for a private care facility of some kind, not a hospital. She says they're running out of PPE. They have masks and gloves, but no gowns, so they're making gowns out of plastic garbage bags right now. :pwease:

Had to get the furnace serviced yesterday (it's still only 40°F overnight here!), and Ray, the usual guy who's about 70, came to take care of it. He had a mask on and so did I to greet him and chat a bit. I told him then I'd leave him alone while he worked. He said "Oh thank God, then I can take this fucking thing off." I dropped in to check once in a while and he pulled it up, but it kept slipping off his nose. I just kept mine on and stayed across the room. And wiped the whole furnace down with Clorox wipes after he left.

yeah but if he changed your filters, then they're impregnated with his cooties. You better not use the furnace for a while.

We go to war with the equipment we have, not the equipment we need. Paraphrasing that one dude during Iraq 2003 version of course.

    Absolutely true.

But that's no reason not to request more complete equipment, and it's no excuse for the command structure sending troops into battle with insufficient equipment.

oh I agree! But refusing a mission is not an option. Sometimes the command just doesn't have what they need or enough of what they need, but the clock doesn't stop. For the health care workers if they have to improvise to save lives versus wait for everything they need and not treat folks, that's a no brainer.
Of course keep trying to get what you need - the squeaky wheel gets the grease!

Coonman has prevented Northern Virginia from re-opening until May 28th. We were supposed to re-open this Friday.

So the singular people walking in the middle of the road have attracted the ones on the side of the road and now they all gather in the road and have conversations without masks. Now the final part of my plan can take effect when some elderly fuck in a a mercedes plows through the crowd because they accidentally hit the gas. Then the children of the idiots will get the covid or some hospital antibiotic resistant infection of their colon when they come to visit in the hospital. Pure on darwinism wiping out the entire family.

My prayers to the dark lord on witch's night were answered. It is express service in god's waiting room. Bring on the hurricanes leviathan! Finally, after all these years a reason to be in florida.

I'm in the odd situation of having spiced rum but possibly not enough cola to mix with it because I don't like taking more than one bottle in case it deprives a family with kids.

I mean, I'm buying Coke Zero or Pepsi Max so the chances are remote, but still.

That's entirely on the cards (or at least on the rocks) but I do have 55 student assignments to mark tomorrow and I get overly sarcastic if I don't mix my drinks.

In this case, you're helping the younger generation two ways: not being overly sarcastic, and depriving them of cola drinks that are bad for them. Go grab another 2 liters.

Also all coke profits benefit me here in Atlanta.

I would, but due to the lockdown, I'd have to drive to get to an open store and I've already had six drinks.

Now normally, that wouldn't stop me, but the cops are out looking for English twats trying to sneak into Wales for a spell by the seaside.

Since I have diabetes I have found that spiced rum does just fine without the candy mixer. If you are going down that road, why waste time with sugar?

you pretty much have to play it by ear depending on what COVID is doing. That's the smart way to do it so it doesn't blow up your face and ruin everything.
