East of I75? Cuz it’s still campus buildings on the west side. And I can’t go to street view and look for the building cuz I’m on my phone.
Where bodies once glistened, only faint odor remains Where odors once called to people there are none
In that case, I’m at a loss. Cuz all I see over there, from my phone, is campus buildings. I’m a poor stalker.
OMG my daughter has credits on IMDB and Wiki for Tender Touches. No, I didn't abuse her. physically. They had layoffs too, same day as here. She hasn't been to the office since April. sigh. She was surprised she wasn't laid off.
This actually makes good sense. They don't want people at both urinals simultaneously, and, while a tall person can still use the short urinal, it wouldn't work the other way around (unless the short person rests their dick on the urinal cake).
about 200 meters south of a Regal Cinema? Asking for a friend! I stayed at hotel once in midtown within spitting distance of the historic Fox Theater.
interesting! So how does a strip club operate in a COVID world? Does the club show videos of strippers at home with a webcam?
So it is official, social distancing and staying home is fucking over for turkey day. You think Bikers and Trump caused some COVID spikes, there is no chance unless you stay the fuck away from everyone. Unless masks help a lot more than they are saying thanksgiving is a megasuperspreader event. Good news is we might start seeing declining numbers around the time christmas comes along and anyone left gets hit with the yultide/new year wave. I think you can start clucking again @Asyncritus because they lit the match in the room full of methane.
Got myself swabbed last week, results came in a couple days ago: Not detected. Today, while I'm busting ass pushing carts (fun to do at journeyman pay ), the cashier that was going to relieve me finds me as I'm schlepping in a row of carts and says his entire family's quarantined. Shit. I powwow with him and one of my comanagers, quickly confere with HR, yep, send him home and ask him to keep us up to date.
hmmm....come to think it the two elderly brothers who look like Cotton Hill that are cart herders at my local neighborhood market are MIA. I wonder if they are quarantined or whatever.
2020 change is that we now have a housemate, which isn't something I ever expected to happen again. A friend of ours who until recently was an international pilot, now made redundant due to the fact that international travel is basically dead.
Good news: I recently tested negative for COVID after a possible secondary exposure, as did my mother in law. Bad news: my mother in law works in a field where she is being repeatedly exposed to COVID positive individuals on an almost daily basis. She isn't even in the medical field, so why her employer can force this on her is beyond me. I think she should say fuck off and take EFMLA. I'm hoping she is OK. But this also means we probably won't be able to see her again for a while. This, after self quarantining for Thanksgiving (which in hindsight, even without the possible exposure, was probably a good decision).
I found out yesterday that the brother of an older friend of mine died from it. One of their aunts died from the flu during the pandemic a hundred years ago, presumably as a child.
Went back to the office today after the last few weeks of working from home as a result of the recent cluster. State is now down to 0 known active cases so looks like we've managed to contain it. It's strange how quickly changes become normalized. 3 weeks ago we were all going into a hard lockdown, worried it might stretch on to the new year, now things are largely back to the normal they were in a few weeks ago. The big change is having to scan in almost everywhere. Hospitality businesses are legally required to have QR codes next to the doors, and on arrival everyone scans in so that if an outbreak occurs the contact tracers can quickly get to action. Only came into effect last week and already it feels natural to do it. Looking forward to when it isn't needed, although right now we're taking our time with approving vaccines locally. Less pressure in terms of reducing local numbers (only 1 locally transmitted case across all Australia in the last week) and so makes sense for harder hit countries to jump at it first. Looks like it might be March until we start seeing them rolled out here.
The wife and I had to go to Lyon yesterday, one of the biggest cities in France. I was somewhat surprised to note that pretty much everyone on the streets was wearing a mask. Not that there were than many people on the streets; we're in lockdown here and you're supposed to have a good reason for going out, but I don't think I saw as much as 1 person in 20 who had their nose hanging out of their mask, or weren't wearing a mask at all.
And in my little corporate fiefdom the suits are coming to the office regularly. More Mercedes, Porches and BMWs than you can shake a stick at. I blame Packard.
