Ok here's the dea. I'm taking my citizenship test in oh... one week. But I won't be sworn in as a citizen / get naturalization certificate until an official ceremony in a couple months. By then I'll be in school. Here's why I posted this in the Workshop: I want to put up two flags on my dorm door. First, a flag of Honduras, with a funny phrase about so-long-etc. I'll put this up the week I move back to campus. When I leave for the ceremony, I'll put up an American flag next to it, with a message something along the lines of "coming soon" mixed with "JESUS IM SO HAPPEH" And when I get back I wanna take the Honduran flag down, and replace the phrase under the American one with something like "YAYYYY!!" But I need clever catch phrases. Writers of the 'Forge, will you help me out?
How about....wait for it......hasta la visa! Get it? A citizen doesn't need a work/student visa, they have permanent citizenship!
you want an existing meme or something original? Because the celebratory phrase could be "double Rainbows all the way!"
1. So long and thanks for all the fish! (could change fish to a native abundant foodstuff) 2. Any minute now.... 3. Proud American! Whoo-hoo!!! And congratulations to you and your family...it isn't easy but I have so much respect for those of you who choose to become American and work so hard to achieve what we were lucky enough to be born into. I have no doubt you will breeze through that test and be a citizen before you know it!
1. "Are there Cliff Notes for this test?" 2. "I'm almost ready to go. Just brushing up on my John Wayne movies." 3. "I'm finally in America! Now all I need is a cowboy hat and a bucket of deep-fried chicken corpses."
