Then why are black people so disadvantaged in this country? Why is there an education gap? Why are they more likely to be in poverty? Why is their health so much worse than white people? Why do they make up a disproportionate part of the population in prison?

Are you familiar with the research showing that, in health care, Black patients' pain is consistently less believed and taken less seriously than that of white patients? That in criminal justice, Black defendants consistently receive harsher sentences than white defendants for the exact same crimes? That despite redlining being illegal, Black home buyers still have a harder time getting mortgages than white home buyers with exactly the same financial situations? That similar problems exist when trying to rent? That polluting factories are consistently located where their impact will be felt more by communities of color?

That list is just the tip of the iceberg, and it took me about two minutes to compile.
