    Pretty surprised he made it to 60 given the crazy abuse hos body must have taken over the years

    But yeah, absolute legend on the pitch

    I saw a documentary on him several months ago (on HBO I think) that actually portrayed him as quite a tragic figure that was taken advantage of by those around him. Pretty sad stuff actually

    I watched about half the day he passed. Need to finish it but yeah, pretty tragic.

    Of the three World’s Greatest of that era (Pele, Maradona, Best) Pele seems to be the only one that could handle it. But they really were the first of the ‘athlete as public figure/superstar’ reality. Being first sometimes means having no example of how to handle shit.
