link Reminds me of the old joke, you dont need to be a brain to be a boss, just an asshole. :hitlerdance:
In my early days at ITT, I had boss after boss who were right bastards. Old school bullies who seemed to get off onmaking your life hell. I dunno if anybody here is old enough to remember when Walkmen were a new thing. Soon enough, all eight of the guys in the graphics dept had them (remember those big fluffy orange earphone covers?). After we'd all spent a bundle on good Walkmen, the boss sent our poor supervisor walking down the line of drawing boards telling us to take them off, and never use them again. Then there was the micromanaging dickhead whose favorite phrase was "Who's fault is it?" Thank Yoda I've had pretty nice bosses for the last 10-ish years.
My office is nothing like 'Dilbert' or 'Office Space'! But they make it a point to hire self-motivated people who don't need much supervision, and don't hire managers from the outside.
Of course, the problem with trying to get big bosses to intervene with lower management assholes, is they got ahead the same way. It's just another viciuos cycle.
