There it goes. That took WAY too long. I'm going to have to see what happened. Your account has been unlocked, Packard.

Unlocked? Why? I thought we were still testing this.

So was my third account admitted because I am still circumventing both lines of defence, or because you unlocked me?

That there are some serious bugs in the system that I'm going to have to fix.

Firstly, discourage wouldn't discourage your account. Secondly, the IP ban system let you walk right back on in using the same IP. So I am currently working on that.

I feel like Bill Gates did when he demonstrated Windows 98 to the public.

You guys are missing the obvious. We tried to ban Packard. Is it any surprise that this didn't work?

I used to think Lanz was joking, but having witnessed it firsthand, I am convinced that Packard is Neo.

So as you can see the system is shit. Why bother?

Just ban and flood control if you're being generous.

    Really.

What is the point? Especially talk of "emergencies" on a BBS...oh no a picture of a penis might be seen for a few minutes before it can be removed. Big whoop.

Change your IP, dump your cookies/temp files and this get circumvented just like bans do. To my knowledge the extra heuristics protections are for stopping spammers not regular posters or trolls. It depends on lists on other sites to work so I don't see how it makes WF any safer from trolls.
