[?=Recognize these two?] Nope, it's not Donald Duck and Minnie Mouse, it's an original Chinese duck character and a cat with very large ears.[/?] [?=Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs?] Nope, more original Chinese characters.[/?] At least she's being honest about the characters being Disney creations. Though you gotta admire the gall of the Park President's statement. So who'll win, Disney or China? link
This is difficult... on the one hand, China's attitude towards intellectual property is diabolical, and it's about time somebody called them on it. But why Disney, a corporation that over here has taken schools to court for breach of copyright because kids painted what might be Disney characters on murals...
It's about time Uncle Walt got fucking in the arse for his bastardisation of the Parisian suburbs. And, the US itself is going to file a complaint, not Disney? Is the US goverment just a huge organisation of corporate lackies? Oh, wait, yeah I suppose it is..... btw, I loved Disneyworld
China has a Disneyland, a real one...in Hong Kong. I visited it last year. Authentic, but not nearly as impressive in scale as Anaheim or Orlando or Paris.
But an hour after leaving you're bored again. Anyway, the rides are cool. The "Tienamen Square Dodge-a-Tank" was my favorite. "Mister Toad's Forced Abortion" did not live up to the hype IMO.
