Actually I've been both in the past but putting that aside. I wouldn't be much of a friend (or you to me) if I agreed with you simply because of friendship when I in fact disagree. Friendships should have room for honest disagreement. I've been through the arguments about gun control in other nations and how it doesn't apply to the U.S. For example people like to bring up the gun control measures taken in Australia after the big mass shooting in the resort town and in United Kingdom after the mass school shooting and point out that there "hasn't been a mass shooting since" I point out that in neither nation were there such large scale mass shootings BEFORE those events either, so that is largely an irrelevant argument. Numerous factors too lengthy to go in to in a single threat about various factors unique to the United States make it difficult to compare the U.S. to any other country on Earth. j I hope that explanation helps explain my actions. Perhaps I'm not a very good friend but in my view past (or current) friendships shouldn't mask real disagreement.
