I thought Anc had all these cool new ideas for boosting membership and participation - what happened? From what I can see, all he was able to do was beg Storm to slum around here for 24 hours and make a couple of posts before disappearing down his rat hole again.

Is anyone keeping count of how many people have dropped this site like a bag of wet garbage? Muad, Marso, actormike, Bulldog......

Of course, Liet is always just one post away from running off like a squealing little bitch again.

Tex doesn't participate anymore, Eccentric doesn't seem to want to completely reintegrate (assuming its the real, original Eccentric).

What do you attribute to the decline? Gul? ANC? The other owner? Lanz?

That young people use social media for this sort of stuff instead of forums so the only people regularly using open topic forums like this are people who started using them 10+ years ago.

Where are all of the bronies gone? You don't see too many of them in the Red Room.

^ True enough. That said, most of the Bronies from the old board went to another board made for Bronies; one that I administrate, and have for the past couple of years.

Hell, the only reason I stick around here anymore is to keep a bunch of people within reach who I can swear at like a maniac and not feel guilty about it. So, basically, WF is my mental toilet.

As for the original question, the main thing that draws me to Wordforge is the familiar crowd and feel. There is no other unifying quality I could name; and if that is generally true, we really only can shrink, never grow. I'm just glad it's still there and running well.

The new owners are doing great in my book. Can't expect them to reverse time though.

Nah. That community very clearly defined and the subject matter revolves around one particular fandom. WF is more of a general purpose board, like Starscape.

Eh, TBBS is a good place. One might not like TNZ, but TBBS as a whole is a good Trek board.

Nah, too many wilting flowers there who can't take a differing opinion in spite of all their IDIC bullshit. Even the mods there will troll you if you dare criticize one of the movies they like, and the Admins will back them up on it. :techman:

I had a few minutes to kill this afternoon & didn't feel like reading the same half dozen threads by the same half dozen people, so I went to...TBBS. The level of debate there is slightly better than here AND there were over 400 people online. Of course you can't make negreps or rep comments...

Cowboy Bebop is a fantastic anime, teeming with rich, well developed characters, and top notch soundtrack; one of the best ever produced. :bailey:
