A round or differently shaped LCD display? Anything but the 4:3 and 16:9 style screens? I googled and looked around but couldn't find anything but some internet april fools joke.

LG did some tech demos of something like that a few years ago. (saw it on the bbc click prog)

Most widescreen PC LCDs seem to be 16:10.

he's talking about "differently shaped LCD displays"

only thing i can think of is the tech demo LG did a few years ago, but can't seem to find anything about it on the net.

There's both. I meant to put 16:10 (either that or he had 16:10 and he edited it!!! :tinfoil: ). Anyways I haven't seen any round screens and quite frankly don't want to.

I agree with not wanting a round screen myself. I was just curious.

Almost all widescreen LCD PC monitors are 16:10. LCDTVs on the other hand, those are more typically 16:9.

Some monitors which look 4:3 are actually 5:4.

That's the 1280*1024 monitors, a weird resolution if ever there was one.

Weird, but useful, and a fairly standard step between 1024x768 and 1600x1200.

The fact it became a standard resolution doesn't change the fact that it is a strange-ass aspect ratio.

As to the original question, yah, there are companies out there that build custom LCD displays in whatever form factor you need.

    It'll cost ya, though.
