If so, you should have no problem getting Microsoft assistance in replacing/repairing them. Until recently, Microsoft in the Netherlands claimed that if placed securely, the Xbox could scratch the dvds/game(aren't those all on dvd now?). After testing by a consumer tv program, they changed their mind: when used regularly, the xbox can cause scratches on games, Microsoft says.
How is this being dealt with in the US? Any problems replacing the xbox? Many complaints?

Jumpping around and made it shake?

Got a mate who did that with his Guitar Hero II, jumpping around like a nutter and made the TV stand shake (xbox is on the stand, standing upright)

The game in question in Oblivion and I can't remember doing any jumping around whilst it was playing. I would understand if we had.

No idea then, you can get some stuff that fills in the scratches if you need to.

They tested 27 different 360's from people who send in complains...
First two times the 360's and tv's where tested in a studio with a special floor and the players all sat down, the 3rd time they tested it in a normal livingroom enviroment...
The 360's where all placed horizontaly and the tables where all checked to be perfectly horizontal...
6 discs of 27 where scratched in the end...

We have the 360 horizontal and so far, it's only Oblivion that has any scratches in it. I might be the cause of this as I have, on several occasions, left the game paused for a good hour or so. Whether the constant spinning of the disc damages it in someway, while data isn't being loaded, I've no idea. Game is still perfectly playable though

Friend of mine had his 360 upright and decided to move it to its side while he was stll playing Saints Row. Needless to say the damage done to that disc meant it had to be taken back to the shop

Well, the program had 1,000 conplaints about the scratching...
These models where made after october last year and they dont have these pieces of rubber around the laser lens that should keep the disc and lens from touching each-other...
It's a Toshiba drive and the ones they deliver for other products do have those rubbers...
So is it a fault from Toshiba delivering drives without those rubbers or is it MS giving Toshiba these specifics(drives without rubbers) to cut costs?!?
    Who knows...

They should've know that to be safe, always use a rubber.
