E3 starts next week! I'm super excited! Right now all I really know is that

    1) Nintendo won't be there - Nintendo is opting out of an E3 press conference and instead is doing Nintendo Direct which usually works out for them. I think they're different enough from Microsoft and Sony that they can pull it off.

    2) Bungie is showing Destiny at the Sony press conference - Saw a tweet about this earlier today. You bet your ass Sony locked them up for the press conference. Who else will be there? What will we find out about the PS4's DRM, and what it looks like, even? Will they talk about any interesting games? They have to, right? They're riding high off the PS4 reveal, but they need some substance now. It's been a while since February.

    3) Microsoft has 15 new games to announce for the Xbox One! And a good chunk of them are totally new properties! 7? 8? I forget the number they said. That's exciting, and they better be trying to buy back some goodwill after their fuckup of a press conference a couple weeks ago.

    4) Will Respawn's game be at EA's press conference? - Everybody has been waiting for the new game from the creators of Call of Duty. Everyone wants to see them create another large franchise. How much does one of them leaving the company hurt them? I think all we know about this game currently is that it's in a Sci-Fi setting.

    5) Ubisoft's train wreck - Ubisoft must be having one again, right? They're not jumping on the bandwagon of skipping the press conference for their own smaller thing aimed directly at fans? How awful will the hosts of this one be? Last year wasn't too bad, but the year before was Mr. Caffeine, and that was downright embarrassing.

    6) Konami - If I recall correctly, Konami did the separate press conference thing last year. Will they do it again? I see no reason to think otherwise.

Well, I think I've covered most of the bases. Do you guys have anything to add that I may have missed, or predictions?

Edit: Also, where are you watching it? I'm watching on Giant Bomb because I'm a semi-fanboy and they run crazy live shows with great guests. They get big names, and they're hyping it up but vaguely. They haven't disappointed yet, so I'm pumped.

I predict 400 First Person Shooter games with 10 minute single player campaigns and 247 multiplayer maps.

    But I'm cynical like that.

I'm pretty sure Nintendo will be there with booths and stuff showing off games, they just won't be doing the usual press conference.

Current rumor is that Microsoft is spamming case around to publishers trying to get them to only show games on the XBone on the show floor rather than on the PS4.

I think Nintendo's strategy is going to shoot them in the foot. The WiiU's disappointing sales is because they don't have any games for the system. Them doing this "direct" thing is them preaching to the choir. I don't own a Nintendo System so I won't have access to what they will be doing other than through other media outlets.

I'm very interested in Xbox's 15 exclusives. That sizzle reel bullshit they showed at that reveal event was poorly planned. I want to see some in engine footage. I'm sure that in addition to Forza, some of those IPs will be another Gear, Halo, etc., but why is this one special?

IMHO, Ubisoft actually had the strongest E3 last year. They had something for everything. Even the WiiU and Vita got some love from Ubi last year. If I ever get a WiiU, the first thing I'll try is ZombiiU.

I've heard that Respawn's game will be an Xbone exclusive. I don't know how that will be economically possible considering the studio hasn't made a penny of money since its inception 3 years ago, but we'll see. There wont be enough Xbones on the market for them to make any money. I kind of feel like I'm over the Call of Duty shooter craze, so I hope they give us something new. As for the rest of EA, we'll see.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Uncharted 4 on the PS4. I'm probably most excited for Sony's press conference.

What ever happened to Konami's Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2?

For the first time, I'm more excited about Playstation than Xbox. It might be because I recently got a PS3 and have been enjoying the hell out of the exclusives I always wanted to play and never got to (Uncharted, God of War, etc.). Mostly I think it's MS and the direction they're taking XBox that is pulling me more towards Sony. My mind might be changed depending on what they show at E3, but I doubt it. If the indie exodus to PS4 is any indication, Sony is going to outmaneuver Microsoft this generation and come out as the dominant player in the console market.

I will say a lot of the new IPs for XBone look very promising. Quantum Break I'm most interested in, and it's a Remedy title.

For PS4, very interested in Destiny, Bungie AFAIK has never made a bad game. Also curious about Jonathan Blow's game The Witness, reminds me a bit of Myst.

No real interest in getting a WiiU, haven't seen anything that draws me to that platform.

I seriously doubt Naughty Dog will do another Uncharted game. If anyone's gonna do a new one, it's going to be a studio you don't really want doing one.

I, like Kuranes, am far less interested in an Xbox now, and I'm looking forward to the Playstation. I had an xbox and a 360, and I've never owned a Playstation. Microsoft did such a poor job, and Sony did such a great job with their unveiling that I'm leaning towards Sony, and that's big for me. It's still early though.

Is anyone watching the Konami thing? Apparently that was today, like, right now? I just tuned in during the part where they talked about Pro Evolution Soccer and Baseball Simulator or something.

Interesting development: Microsoft cancels E3 Post-Conference info session

Hmm, that could mean a number of things. Maybe they're really confident in their E3 event, or they're still doing major tinkering under the hood and don't want to announce features.

Or someone said "HOLY FUCK, THIS THING IS GOING DOWN IN FLAMES". ANd they are doing some serious across the board revamping.

Respawn's game is called Titanfall, and is an Xbox exclusive.

The biggest thing that Microsoft needs to do is make sure all of their people are on the same page. That's why they cancelled the Q&A.

Oh well... Fuck Respawn, then. I'm shocked EA let them get away with that.

    http://news.xbox.com/2013/06/license

Here's a bunch of details about Microsoft's licensing. It looks a lot better than it did a week ago, but I'm still skeptical.

http://news.xbox.com/2013/06/main Here's details about connectivity and privacy, too.

Looks like they're finally trying to convince people this stuff is good for them. only time will tell how this all pans out.

Damn them. Just like the last two consoles of Nintendo's, a new Super Smash Bros. might be all it takes to convince me to get the next console...

Also, are we going to see more details about the PS4 at E3? We pretty much only know a few hardware specs, a few games, and the logo at this point, right?

And more importantly, will Call of Duty Dog be there?

I actually like that you can share your games with up to 10 people! I might be buying 2 consoles this year!

There's almost 100% chance we'll get more info about the PS4 at E3.

Also, that's Nintendo's new business model. I'm not necessarily buying a Wii U, but it gets me a little excited about the Wii U, which is really a first for that system.
