Pretty sure Gates was out of MS when they bought LinkedIn, and he certainly is now. Does Buffet control it?

As of a few years ago, 1.3% ownership (not counting the Gates Foundation), but he hasn’t been employed there or on the board for ages. Reportedly, Satya runs big AI-related decisions by him but I’d be unsurprised if he’s never done anything at all with LinkedIn.

How is he being obtuse? Zuckerberg did build and owns Facebook; Gates looks to be merely indirectly connected to Linkedin, and Buffet doesn't control any social media company that I know of.
