What is the deal with the "mandatory" Election thread Icon thing?

I don't even begin to know how to calm down this issue because I have no clue what you plan here.

And...why? You had to know making something like this "mandatory" was going to be like playing pinata with a bees nest.

There is a Help Desk thread you really should comment in.

It's obvious that any new "rule", even a temporary one, will be met with a certain degree of resistance. It's part of the reason in the past why we haven't added or changed rules, because upsetting the status quo would cause an outcry we didn't want to deal with.

I'll back off of it. I'll even toss everything into a subform. But, I'm gonna personally skin the next person that makes a "OMG WF IS DYING!!!111" thread. :clyde:

I'm thinking about taking him up on his offer. Any objections?

Edit: I guess I should tell y'all what I want to do.

I'm thinking about making him a full-Super-Mod through the election so he can edit and move threads, etc. through the election. But, his expressed mission will be to work with thread icons and moving/editing/merging threads only, and that he can only deviate from that task in case of emergency.

We should probably do that anyway, just to be safe and all.

Thank you sirs an' ma'ams for letting a poor immigrant like me see the inside of your bawdy house. Of course, I'm part of the cleaning crew.

This is truly the most boring forum in the place.

    The Archive is more exciting.
