The former is one of the very few near-perfect films. It's a 9 on my scale.

The latter is, uh, also a movie.

ok. I probably would not have even considered them, let alone create a category for them.

But, I do agree that scales for movies are and should be biased.

Finally saw this. Bottom tier of Marvel moves for me, which is surprising because the cast and director made me think this was going to be pretty darn good. Just couldn’t get into it or invested in the characters or plot, it was flat and meh

I certainly agree it's bottom tier Marvel, and parts of it are flat. The whole is definitely less than the sum of its parts.

So I watched it. This is just Marvel's version of Ancient Aliens. I thought it was okay. I thought Kumail Nanjiani was the best part of the movie. Nitpicks: why create robots that have emotions so they can empathize with the people they're going to let die? They never explained the artifact in the beginning, what was the whole point of that? They also never explained why the celestial created Sprite the way he did. After billions of years, this is the first time they've stopped a celestial or questioned the plan, seems like it would happen a lot. Lastly, wouldn't the emergence that they were able to stop still create huge tidal waves and earthquakes and all sorts of destruction, yet it seemed to barely phase the planet.

I have enough points on my discount card that it's free.
If I hate it as much as you, I'll throw it like a frisbee at my neighbors.
    No loss.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say you're not going to hate it.

You will probably like it more than I did. And I thought it was okay.

I would be stunned if you come back with "Well...that was total shit."

I’m still on the poor use of Time by Pink Floyd. Shouldn’t it have been Money? I haven’t watched past that yet.

Not bad. My favorite Marvel production since Endgame, but that's no great accomplishment, given the competition.

I've been wracking my brain for how the Eternals are going to pay off in the larger story.
Because, nothing went to waste in "Infinity War".
    Everyone had a role.
Everything's got to puzzle assemble for the next event.
And the clues have to already be there.

    I think I've got it.
I've heard rumors Avengers 5 is indeed "Secret Wars", and I think the Celestials are going to be the stand-in for The Beyonder.
They create and destroy planets, be easy enough for them to poof up War World.

Someday, one of my crazy theories is gonna nail it.
    I'm gonna keep trying.

Kill it with fire and extreme prejudice.

Best decision Kevin Fiege could ever make is to forget Eternals ever happened and just move on.

They made Iron Man 3 and Thor 2 count.

Y'know, I think I've finally hit on what's "off" about Eternals.

    It's a DC movie!
Chloe Zhao is trying to be Zack Snyder!

Shazam is DC's Marvel movie, and Eternals is Marvel's DC movie.

Nope. I already wasted two hours of my life on the original dreck.

Unless the HISHE involves time travel and going back to kill everyone involved in Eternals, I'm not interested.
