What's next? An EU law that forces everyone to be surgically altered into some androgenous form?

What does the thread title have to do with the story?

Also, why is it that so many Americans, that erroneously label themselves as right wing, are so bothered about what the EU is doing? After all, isn't Europe a horrid, muslim infested place that they don't want to set foot in?

You'll notice that all they're ever doing is knocking European integration. While sometimes the criticisms are justified, it stems from the US desire to prevent a united Europe emerging as a rival, and right-wingers are just obediently channeling their leaders on it.

What would the world of porn be like without legions of hot, slutty, and desperate girls from Eastern Europe? I shudder to think. :(

Not if you actually read the proposal or even just the bit quoted in the linked piece. There is no proposal to ban pornography, not even a non-binding one.

Actually, from a strategic position, this American right winger would love to see European integration along the lines it's been going. Nothing will make you Europeans less dynamic and competitive than to have some over-arching, interventionist bureaucracy hamstringing freedom of action at every turn in order to promote the latest politically correct douchebaggery.

But, at the same time, I feel compelled to criticize the effort because I hate to see ANYONE become less dynamic and competitive because of some over-arching, interventionist bureaucracy hamstringing freedom of action at every turn in order to promote the latest politically correct douchebaggery.

Don't kid yourselves. The bureaucrats in Brussels will soon force themselves into every aspect of your national characters. This is the voice of experience talking.

For example Czech beauty Monica Sweetheart. If there's a defect with her, I haven't found it as of yet.

Hell the EU already does that and Europe is not truly unified yet.

They couldn't do it. You would never see these countries come together to form one country.

So the American right winger prefers a weak, declining Europe? Is Europe still an important competitor on the economic dance floor when it comes to American prosperity?

If I was you, I would look towards Asia.

As a European social democrat, I hope for a strong America. Because I consider the US an ally. Similar values and so on... At least compared to China...

From a STRATEGIC position, a highly bureaucratic and centralized (and, inevitably, weaker) EU would suit U.S. power interests more. But, while SOME Americans might want that, I actually don't.

What I was trying to get across is that Europeans should look at OUR federal debacle and try like hell not to make the same mistakes. Get the benefits of integration, but put tight limits on how much can come from the bureaucracy in Brussels.
I want a strong Europe and I, too, want us to be enduring allies. And, in the long run, I think China will come around to our values.

There are no benefits to integration. Distant, insulated bureaucracies will never have any advantage over local, flexible, accountable governance. Not to the people they pretend to represent, at any rate. Maybe to the elites who gain fortune and power from ignoring the promises they make, but not to anyone else.

And the non-answer is so 1946. But guess who in 1946 and why, consequently, I don't give even a fraction of a shit about that non-answer.

Here's a clue: When you finally do figure it out, you won't have the balls to give a straight answer.

Y'know, the more looney lefties talk shit about me, the better I feel and the more my street cred grows. Keep talkin' shit, you collectivist fuckin' patsies. You'll be fleeced and learn absolutely nothing from it soon enough.

See, if you actually had any brains, you'd insincerely agree with me but then betray your words by continuing to vote for dictators.

(Obviously, you're always going to vote for dictators -- you are that tiny minority that really does want to be led -- but if you had even a shred of guile to ya, you'd at least pretend to be free men so that you could have some traction in leading more patsies to the fleecing. Guess you're just not that bright.)
