Honestly, they're all great at the different aspects of Bond's personality, with neither capturing what the other did. Connery was smooth and funny, but Dalton captured his rage. I like Craig at the moment, because he's the part of Bond that fascinates me at the moment. I want to see his motives, his reason for being.
Connery, but Craig's got real potential. I actually liked Timothy Dalton in the role; I wish he'd been in better Bond movies. I was never a big Roger Moore fan (although some of his outings were very enjoyable). I liked Pierce Brosnan quite a bit, even if the later movies went way, way, way over the top. Lazenby only had the one film, but he distinguished himelf by not being awful.
Connery, and Brosnan had the potential to equal him if his scripts hadn't sucked. The new guy looks good, but I'll need another couple of movies to judge better.
Is the guy who just died on there? The one that played Bond in the original Casino Royale? Serious omission if not. Connery/Brosnan Craig/Dalton Moore haven't seen the others' movies.
So serious that we, uh, can't remember his name? And didn't the televised version of 'Casino Royale' Americanize the character into 'Jimmy Bond?' Hardly canonical. My Bond Rankings: 1. Connery (1 connery = 1000 milliconneries) 2. Craig* (800 milliconneries) 3. Dalton (700 milliconneries) 4. Brosnan (650 milliconneries) 5. Moore (400 milliconneries) 6. Lazenby (300 milliconneries) (and, truthfully, I go back and forth on Dalton and Brosnan---ask me next week and I might reverse them.) * tentative; we'll see how he fares in his second outing
The Americanized version of Casino Royale was done on TV and made him a CIA agent instead of MI-6. The First Brit version kept him English, but made it a comedy/parody instead of a serious story. It did, however, have one of the better Bond soundtrack albums.
Fuck Lasenby, and FUCK FUCK FUCK Roger Moore. My list goes: Connery Craig Brosnan Dalton Moore Lasenby I abhore Roger Moore, but at least he held a little bit of a Bond attitude over Lasenby.
