"Cruella" and "Black Widow" coming to Disney+ as well as theaters. https://www.darkhorizons.com/black-widow-cruella-to-hit-disney/
I think it's curtains for movie theatres. And this begs all sorts of questions about Hollywood's current business model. It's like iTunes and the music industry 20 years ago.
I think we'll get back to a point where movie theatres will be a thing again but it's not going to be quick - maybe 4-5 years down the road
As an aside, I am anti-Disney reboot/prequel/retelling on principle but that Cruella trailer was peak #GirlBoss energy and not I'm a good way, even by the low bar they've set on those. What possible "poor woe is me" empowerment story can there *possibly* be for a woman whose dream was to have a fur coat made from puppies, fer crissakes?
