Holy Crap! With all the Final Fantasy news coming out of the Square Enix party, I didn't remember seeing this! Basically, they improved the graphics of Final Fantasy 1 for the PSP and are releasing it later on this year. The games are still 2D, but they look much better now, over the Wii Virtual Console/GBA/NES original versions.

Have to say, I only really liked FFVII. XII looks pretty good, but I don't want to buy another PS2 just to play it. I'm stoked about XIII, though. If it isn't released multi-platform, I WILL buy a PS3 just to have it.

Don't get me wrong, loved the girls in X-2, but.. the game itself? Meh. I much prefered the Dragon Quest series.

Personally I came into the series at VII, haven't really played any of the prior ones to completion and since liked IX and XII the best. Did you know, there will be two releases under the umbrella of FFXIII? They follow the same storyline from two different perspectives one being more RPG and the other being more Action RPGesque. That is about as much details as I've heard on it at this point.

Ah yes, Dragon Quest, the most straight forward RPG in recent years. Simple, to the point and magnificently executed.

I bought Dragon Quest VIII and the strategy guide - hated it for the most part. The characters, except the fat guy, were all very generic or highly annoying, and there was no way to save before doing a boss fight. Which means if you lost, you'd have to do the entire dungeon ALL OVER AGAIN!

I quit it about a quarter of the way into it.

I'm a glutton for punishment :ramen:, I am about halfway through the game now.
