I've assumed she's the Borg virus when it builds itself a body.

I would even do that... But, STO is the "official" keeper of the TNG/DS9/VOY timeline post 2400 and the Borg Queen plays a part in the story. :(

I never liked Star Trek:Online or David Mack's Destiny trilogy (I told him that while on the TrekBBS and he got really pissed off about it, said I was denigrating something he put a "year of his life" into as if that should make a difference).

To me the ONLY really good post Best of Both Worlds Borg story was Peter David's novel "Vendetta". If you drop the Delcara part of the story and the Borgified Ferengi, it is near perfect.

Now that would've been a great movie!!

Dude, they're admirals. In Starfleet. They're either stupid or intrinsically antagonistic to current captains. There's like an injection or something.

Or they're aliens trying to take over or they're trying to instigate a war with some other civilization. Can't forget those.

    Half bluegills, half changelings.
Both working at cross purposes, but thinking they're on the same page.

At least Vendetta had the climatic battle with the three Borg ships, the Doomsday Machine, Enterprise, the Chekov, and Repulse.

Define "fanboy wank". And how is it any more than the two Abramsverse movies?

And how is that different from the two Abramsverse movies? You know neither of those were thoughtful, deep thinking science fiction

Have you both, or just one?

We know you don't like Abrams Trek, your ideas of good Trek are not any better, in fact much worse. Much, much, worse.

I don't see why that would matter to you. You don't appreciate (or even understand) the "thoughtful, deep thinking science fiction" aspects of Star Trek in general. :)

Yup, Descent showed that the Collective could be co-opted. Have someone with a beef against Picard take them over using a thingummy and take it from there.

Please let's not have another guy take over a quarter of the galaxy only in order to take revenge on our heroes. It's ludicrous and fannish, and it means our heroes only ever get to clean up a mess that they have sort of made themselves.

Kinda, I guess. I have to admit that I don't know a lot about Seven of Nine because, well, I never saw her. I stopped watching Voyager midway through the first season and never looked back.

I'm thinking more along the lines of what we saw of Locutus. A Drone, maybe with some special knowledge or something. Surely Picard isn't the only human or even Starfleet Officer that was assimilated. Then, just let a little of their personality come though. Like, say, when Locutus did his little line about how the first counter-attack was planned for and ended his sentence with, "Number One." The big vast voice of the Collective is great, on a view screen showing the exterior or the huge interior chasm of a Borg ship. You have to play it a little differently when you're in the Enterprise's Main Engineering compartment. I don't think the big detached voice would play well there. But, you still don't have to do a "Queen."

One of the opening scenes in the film is a senior staff meeting about the Borg invasion. NO TACTICAL OFFICER.

Okay, here's all you have to know.
In the day-to-day drudgery episodes, plotwise, she was essentially Spock, except her powers used USB plugging instead of mysticism.

Background wise, she was another Locutus, and it was ret-conned that her parents rode a transwarp conduit to the Delta quad 7-8 years before even "Q Who?", then double-ret-conned that Queen planted her as an intended double agent, but it backfired.
But, all that stuff only mattered for event episodes, and was forgotten again next week.

^There were a number of Voyager episodes that were pretty heavily promoted as featuring Jeri Ryan's ass.

I'm just disappointed they never even had the courage to do TV side-boob, let alone the kind of stuff they were doing on BSG. :ramen:

^I never understood Jolene Blalock's supposed attractiveness in Enterprise anyway. When she appeared in Maxim. Yeah sure. But certainly not with the Vulcan makeup and extremely bad hair style.
