Considering that he tried to destroy the board, both Lanzman and Elwood have said they will never let Borgs back...unless something's changed in the past week when this topic was brought up again.

 

All this "Borgs tried to destroy the board" stuff is getting tiresome now. I met him a couple of times back in the early days and while he was a little eccentric, he wasn't a looney cyberterrorist. He was in his early twenties back then and he'snow got to be pushing 30, if not beyond it. I sincerely doubt that he is quite the same as he was back then.

Is he to be given a life sentence, or instead an olive branch? If the board is properly backed up every now and again is there really anything he could do to the place to destory it anyway? Hell, I'm sure, again, if he had the capability, he's be abe to properly mask his IP and register a dual if he was so helbent on finding ways to mess things up.

I say it's time for a clean slate.

 

Oh, and regarding other posters who have left then come back...why does Eccentric never post but just leave rep? He's done that twice, where he'll rep a bunch of posts for a week or two, then disappear. I would have thought he would have been first in line to hop back onboard with the rep change, since no one would really be able to bombard him into the red for the Meka shit.

 

Probably because he doesn't want to be harassed day and night over the past, which would surely happen if he started posting.

Look how vultures are all over Muad and Sokar hoping to drive them off again. Many of the very people who used to rail about neg rep driving people off and how wrong that is have no problem doing it themselves in their own ways.

Meka. You know what drove her off in the end? The people who wouldn't stop talking about that thread who were supposedly on her side. All she wanted was for it to go away and go back to normal and it never did so she left.

 

This harassment is a virtue that some on WF thing is perfectly acceptable, depending on who's doing it.

The likes of Muad and Sokar have said and done a lot more than just rage rep wars. The likes of those two gentlemen have helped to generate and generate ad fuel that harassment culture that you speak of. But now they are to be felt sorry for them and worry about them in case them leave again? Fuck them. If you want to play the big boy's game then you have to take the rough with the smooth.

At the end of the day, as I said yesterday, WF is about what you get out of it entertainment wise. If it ceases to be enjoyable then fair enough, stay away. But if people who are still here believe that things should change, then the harassment culture should be looked at and talked about.....and if that means that some of the more popular people have to be told some hard truths about their past behaviour, then fuck 'em.As the old saying goes, if you can't do the time, don't do the crime.

A more positive WF is a better WF IMO.

 

Admittedly, I was guilty of this myself, because the grudge I had was more against you and Ecc...and the saddest part is, I didn't really give two fucks about Meka--it was a means to an end because of your posting my name at TK and Ecc pulling a Jekyll-and-Hyde when pissing on me would get him more e-points here.

And I'd be willing to bet that most of the folks who kept dragging that up didn't care about Meka, either.

EDIT: Regarding Ecc getting harrassed...well, that happens when you act like a complete douchenozzle, and then run away from the consequences. This board's done that to Kirk for skipping out on his debate with Garamet and every time Tasvir is unbanned.

But eventually it dies off, if the poster comes back and actually contributes something worthwhile besides trolling, like El Chup has (his fight with Mewa aside). Hell, even if he acknowledges what a dick he was even before the Meka crap, I'd bet that would go a long way with many folks.

You might want to get your facts straight. I almost never engaged in repwar until the last few months and that was only because a particular poster was running around the board being snippy and taking potshots without contributing to any real debate or discussion. In fact, that was generally the case with any of the real repwarriors, if repwar really existed.

Well, seeing as I was banned for 6 months I can't comment on said person who drove you to rep war in your last months before you did a bunk last month (or whenever it was), of why it was the rep war that lead you and your cabal to run off.
