Like most books-turned-movies, I don't anticipate too much. However, Golden Compass was a pretty awesome book, so I hope they stick to the story. EDIT: Alrighty, that was pretty good for a prefinished trailer. I was impressed by the choice of Nicole Kidman as Ms. Coultier, she seems like a good villain. Also, the Daemon effects were pretty nice. I anticipate good things.
Daniel Craig doesn't have the right eyes for Lord Asriel, but I think he has the right voice. I started re-reading my old, tattered copy of this book a few days ago. I forgot how slow the first part is, before they go North. I remember the story getting a lot better once they head North, especially in the next two books.
All I can remember is those animals that have wheels on their legs, and the hot scientist chick who visits their universe. And Purgatory, of course.
THEY ARE TURNING IT INTO A MOVIE!!??? AWESOME!!! They'll have to do all three to make it make any sense.
