What the fuck is this? Do the tesla people understand that the apocalypse will not have electricity to charge your electric pick up and the ATV that will probably fall apart on impact with a pebble? Is there a market for vegan hipsters who need a surrogate penis?

That is, by far, the ugliest vehicle I've ever seen. And that includes the Pontiac Aztec.

As a friend of mine commented on Facebook, it looks like a three-year old tried to draw a picture of a DeLorean.

Tesla, get back to me when you have something that looks better and has better range between charges.

It does have the Delorean look to it. Maybe if it could fly, ran on Mr. Fusion, and could go back in time I might actually consider it. If it came with a young MJF and a crazy scientist I think I would buy it.

If I were going to get a pick up it would be for things like camping and hauling. Seriously, so I would feel safe camping I would have to find a generator that fits in the bed. That defeats the purpose of the electric car.

I did like the armored window demonstration. If you watch the guy throw at the back window he totally tried to limp wrist the throw and it still broke the window. I have had a moonroof break during a hail storm, and it seems those windows are not going to stand up to a decent hail storm at all. I get that bullet proof windows absorb impact and do not let the bullet through, but hail is a real problem here in america, not to mention road debris.

I am sure if this comes out I will see a ton of these down here in floriduh. The tesla is a status symbol around here and they are all over the place. It's price tag in the 30k range might hurt it with the high price brand name crowd, but now all the genesis drivers can get a tesla instead of a hyundai and pretend they have a status symbol. Not only does it look like crap, but it is the hyundai of electric pick ups. I know the cube drivers are going to be jelly of this station wagon angular monstrosity.

I will stick with my toyota. I may not be able to find my corolla in a parking lot with all the others, but it gets me where I want to go, and has all my gadgets. My current record is going to the wrong car five times in three rows at a mall parking lot searching for my corolla.

Aw, come on, if that had come out in 1982, with lights on it like something out of Tron, you'd be fapping yourself senseless over the design. I should point out that part of the reason why the truck looks so weird is because it's a unibody, which is a rarity when it comes to pickups.

Could tron lights actually push that from ugly to nerd cool? I don't think so as the lights of tron serve to often reduce angular ugliness and smooth out design. So I would have to disagee with you there. Plus if you see the front the headlights are an attempt at tron lights that fails.

I can admit to my own dorkish loves after spending large amounts of time in the AWA dealer room looking at the rave cars with anime characters on them. Everyone hates that but if I ever get the money my car is totally going to have anime characters all over it.

Thinking about how to make it cool for nerds I realize you cold put some numbers on it and pretend it was a multisided die. That would make it really cool if they rolled over easy.

Except that in the case of Tron, the lights would be along the edges, and not merely the front of the vehicle.

Plus there would be a light ribbon coming out of the back to destroy tailgaters. Even with one of those I would still not consider it.

It's hideous and no vehicle has any business calling itself a "truck" if it's a unibody.

I get the sentiment but the world is moving on. The tech and construction is now to the point where for most light trucks unibody is more efficient and just as tough.

Hell, the best selling SUV in history is now unibody.

Besides, the sexist pickup ever made was unibody.

The biggest problem with it as a truck seems to be that it's designed to be almost impossible to access the tray from the sides.

That seems to be the new thing with the back hatch on everything. They seem to be going towards it being motor driven and worked from a button which works a motor which opens a latch. I like the lever that I can work with the power of my body that can open the latch. I will say my parents had a blast one day when I was riding with them in the rain and they hit the button to close the back hatch of the car and forgot about me and the car started nomming on me. They found that quite funny as the car tried to eat me with it's butt. I have a tough family, and my mother has actually caught 2 cats in the automatic garage door so she has skills. (Dont worry, due to poor craftsmanship both cats actually had enough room to survive and were not broken in the ordeal. One did walk in an L shape for a few hours.)
