Since you don't respond I can't see any point in replying to your questions.

Where did you get that, from what Tamar said? Oh I know, you wrote it in yourself, made it personal. When clearly it wasn't. Tamar didn't say you, me or anyone else wasn't wanted.

I'd rather MC and the Green Room stay separate, with the less active moderated forums like Gold and PS merged into either.

If you wouldn't mind could you type out what that would look like (see Tamar's interpretation of Async's proposal)? That way we have something concrete to look at, ponder, and discuss.

Unless it was a politically-related topic, like gun control or something, I'm thinking that Camp Wordforge could be folded into whatever the new Green Room-type forum is. There's even less traffic there than there is in the Gold Room. I wouldn't want non-political Camp Wordforge-ish topics in a Red Room type of environment.

No, there'd be more consolidations as you suggest, with only Techforge remaining unchanged as that forum is named in tribute to Techman and I'm not about to change that.

It certainly wasn't what I meant in the least.

I simply don't know what else to suggest to people who are unhappy when it is literally impossible to do everything that everyone wants when much of it is contradictory.

Personally, I don't see trying new ideas as a bad thing. I mean, why not? It's not like it can't be changed again if it doesn't work and evolution could lead to something great.

I saw some very sage advice from a long time veteran message board owner, "Give the users what they need, not what they think they need."
"If it ain't broke don't fix it" comes to mind. Is it broke?

Dude it was five thirty am prior to the caffine influx. I was just saying that I would preffer to have the same shoes I've worn all this time is all. I'm not in huff, really. Just accustomed to things as they are.

 And who are you again? Never mind.

Yes, I did get it from what she said, clearly it says right there,

That reads as deal with it or fuck off to some, not so much to others. Your mileage may vary. It came across as closer to the former than the latter this morning.

With all due respect, unless you've slid back in as a previous poster under a different name then the history of the board and the different changes that it has undergone over the years are beyond your knowledge and while your comment is likely not intended as a shot just remember I've been here through most all of it and have a deeper understanding of what's what.

May the Schwartz be with you and welcome aboard. :D

This I like. It is an evolution of The Forge instead of a hodge podge willy nilly chopping of forums.

Oh, I have a bag of pennies for you UA. :weep:

You admit you personalized what was a completely non-personal comment by Tamar. Blaming lack of caffeine, or something. It's amazing eight years here hasn't grown you a thicker skin.

As to what I might have to say about WF, it's completely irrelevant if I have been here for a week, a month, or eight years. It's a opinion, you can take it or leave it for the 2 cents it's worth. But I can and will offer my opinions, and if you don't like it you can put me on ignore.

By the way, my opinion on your personalizing Tamar's statement has nothing to do with the makeup of WF, so you're erecting a straw man argument there, anyway. Just so's ya know.

And more to the overall point of the thread - I'm always amused when the piglets squeal because the sow's milk might not be as sweet as they would otherwise like. But they continue suckling the tit anyway, while continuing to squeal in protest. This analogy isn't meant to be offensive, it's just a fitting one. There's millions of other sows out there, if this one's milk isn't exactly what you like.

Speaking of amusement, I find it amusing that you have taken it upon yourself to "scold" me or anyone else with a dissenting opinion in this thread.

    Spare me. :dayton:

Also interesting your being so knowledgable about the ignore function which leads to the question for the second time, who are/were you?

You think this is the only vBulletin powered message board out there? I have been on message boards since at least 1999, and am well aware of all the features of all the various engines for them. There's nothing unique about WF in that regard.

    Who have I been scolding?

You're not a clumsy dual or retread or sock. You may yet be a very clever one. :chris:

Naaaaah, I'm just funnin' ya. I don't really care either way, as long as you're a good poster.

Well... If I wanted to dual or retread or sock, you would never detect it.

    But that's beside the point.

You're quoting 10% of what Tamar posted, taking it completely out of context, and then spinning it into some elaborate conspiracy theory.

Edit: never mind, apparently already resolved.

I dunno man, it seems like you've been quite irritable about something in the last few months and tend to express it in your posting style. It's hard to take your posts as anything other than trolling as of late.

I don't like the idea of changing the forum names. But I do like the idea of the Red Room absorbing Faceman Presents: The Gray Room, if only to knock Faceman down a peg. :diacanu:

Green Room absorbing Gold Room, Iron Room, and Camp Wordforge sounds good. As others have pointed out, there should still be a place to talk about guns, etc. with some civility. Iron Room might fit into the Blue Room, though, depending. I never really go in there anyway.

I think Techforge and Media Central generate enough activity for minor forums to continue on as separate entities. Media Central should probably absorb Press Start, but I'm kind of on the fence about that. I know we fought hard for a separate video games forum, and it generates more posts than several other forums. But at the same time, it would increase Media Central traffic.

We might want to consider The Workshop being absorbed into the Blue Room, unless we want The Workshop to remain as a public thing.

I could go for something like this, too. I would probably still rarely go into Techforge and Media Central, but even on the rare occasions when I do I don't find enough that interests me to contribute much, so my not going there wouldn't hurt them any.

Nevertheless, I would still like a rule that says you can start a thread in the Red Room just because you want a free-for-all debate on it, and have it stay there, even if it's not about politics, religion, or some other particularly controversial subject. (And without having to flame some poster in the OP just to make it "Red Room material.")

So basically anything posted in the Red Room belongs in the Red Room? Interesting idea. I wonder how it would play out...
