You made my argument for me. Anti-Bush sentiment was the driving force behind high turnout.

It wasn't love for any particular Democratic candidate...but the generic one that you pointed out. Support for a sight-unseen Democrat is more of an anti-Republican sentiment that a pro-Democrat one, especially in the Third Party=useless reality that Liet claims we reside in.

You've said that so often, it's lost all meaning.

Like Marge saying to Homer "this is the worst thing you've ever done", or me making a fart noise...of the ass.

I didn't say that, you're just choosing to see that. Once again, if there was just anti-President sentiment in play and only that turnout would have been much lower or 3rd party voting much higher than it was in this cycle. Not only was the country very anti-Bush in the last cycle, but they also connected with a lot of what a lot of Democrats were selling. It goes back to people saying John Kerry wasn't "electable" in 2004 which is just absurd. Turnout was enormous in 2004 on both sides. It was a case of both the President and the Senator connecting with millions of people, just the President connected with a few million more and that was the difference. Notice in 2004 how much lower 3rd party voting was as well.

Not if the anti-President sentiment was considerable...almost rabid. And to hear them talk...it was.

But we'll find out in 2008. If the turnout is unusually high then as well, it might be a trend along the lines you described.

That phenomenon is a legacy of Bush v. Gore more than anything else.

It was considerable, I wouldn't call it rabid though. Republicans by and large still to this day support the President.

"AlphaMan agrees: ... well, I might have... :garamet: "

And I might vote for Hillary.....

    :dayton:

Try to be honest. No one belives that nonsense. You'd never vote for him because there would always be that :drama: "one thing" :drama: that stops you.

In fact if he did get in the campaign I'd bet you'd find a billion things to stop you from voting for him. We can start with the fact that he would be a Republican. :jayzus:

Remember this post when you try to act like you aren't an arrogant condescending bitch.

And yes, the more Fred makes the loony-left shit themselves, the more I like him...other than the leftwingnuts, most everyone liked our last actor turned president.

And finally, to address G's lame attempt at exposing hypocrisy where there is none.

I think there is a tiny bit of difference between people like the Dixie Chicks, or shitty rock singers expressing political opinions and someone who is actually involved in the process. Even then though, no one is trying to silence said uninformed morons, they just tell them to not try to act like their opinion should carry more weight since they are famous.

    OH GOD NOOOOOO!!!!!

Don't expose my old login name...oh wait.....pretty much everyone already knew that name.

    God, you really are ignorant.

But true to form, when you can't actually produce a fact to support your argument, you try some other lame-ass attempt to drive those disagreeing with you away.

What argument? You have the inside track on who's gonna win the Republican nomination? Do tell.
