Nah. "Her" schtick was underage sex kitten, and that's just creepy. I've no doubt that she was horribly exploited by her parents and I'm glad that she's got a chance at reclaiming her own destiny.
The way we treated every female teen celeb in those days was gross. South Park accurately predicted the same shit that happened to Britney would happen to then up and coming Miley Cyrus the minute she quit the Mouse Factory and sure enough....
I am as happy as I can be for a rich little blonde girl who is njo longer being exploited by her own family so she can now fully sell herself to the public. Don't get mne wrong if brittany wanted to BFF with me and we could party and wear cute clothes together I am all in. Otherwise have some fucking fun on the way to the OD because you do not want to grow so old the money dries up. Plastic barbies do not age well so party on girl.
Good. It's absurd what her dad was allowed to get away with. I just hope the issue of conservatorship abuse doesn't fade from view now that there's no longer a rich, blonde, white celebrity to serve as its public face.
Well, that and the "having private companies kidnap my children to 'straighten them out' in an unregistered boot camp facility" bullshit, which Britney avoided but Paris Hilton didn't... but, as I posted about here, happens to a lot of other less publicly known kids.
Let's pretend I bothered to post that Saved By The Bell scene, because that's how I feel. (Excited/Scared) I want her to be free just like I want most people to be free, and she deserves to be happy .. but also I see her as the modern Elvis, and I worry about her self-destructing hard if there's no one to stop her. And I don't trust anyone she's ever dated. If she was dating other rich famous celebrities (except for Timberlake, fuck that dude) I'd feel like that was safer because they'd have little to gain by manipulating her, but since Timberlake she's been with a series of nobodies who can't possibly not see her as more of a golden goose and an actual person.
Her music brings back memories from middle school, and some of her later stuff is good too, but I can't say I care much about her personal life.
By sheer osmosis, I'm aware that her current boyfriend's been with her for years now. He came in well into the conservatorship. I dunno, I feel like if he was just there for money, there were better marks than a divorcee with two children and competing with a father who has his own issues with alcoholism. Even if I believed Spears, a woman who can hold a Vegas residency and host a TV show, was in need of a conservatorship stricter than the one Nichelle Nichols is currently under, it's been clear her parents weren't looking out for her. Jamie Spears is the new Joe Jackson
Fingers crossed, she deserves a happy ending. Last I heard her plan is to have more kids, if she wants to buy a piece of land somewhere private and quietly pop out babies for the rest of her days, I hope she's able to do so.
