I use Gratipay myself, so I know a little about how it works. I'm sure there are a few people who would chip in a few cents a week to help support site costs, and this is a way to do it anonymously. Just tossing the idea out there. https://gratipay.com There's also an option for teams, so if TPTB wanted to automatically split up any tips among owners and moderators, you could do that as well: https://gratipay.com/about/features/teams/ I'm not an owner or employee at the site, I just think it's a good platform and would like to see more people on it. The benefit over Patreon (for example) is that endeavors don't have to be artistic and payments are weekly rather than monthly.
FYI, Gratipay is shutting down, but the https://Liberapay.com fork is still in very active development. Still anonymous giving.
That seems like an interesting idea. Plus, Patreon just recently changed their pricing structure, which will end up costing donors more to donate.
