It looks like Game of Thrones will return on 03.31.2013. Here is a video I came across introducing the new cast members. [yt=Game of Thrones S3]rpSDSgChsaI[/yt]
I'm really looking forward to this. I've heard that they'll be splitting up the events of A Storm of Swords over two seasons because so much happens in it, and also to make sure that the TV show doesn't catch up to the books - GRRM has only written 5, is not the fastest writer in the world.
The entire five books. Perhaps I've fundamentally missed something that they have contributed, or the importance of where Bran meets up with them, that can't just be written around. Not sure what it would be, though.
Until the sun rises in the west and sets in the east.... Until the rivers run dry and the mountains blow in the winds like leaves... I'll be waiting for the season premiere!! 24 more days!! Here's an article about the show runners regarding S3!! http://www.denofgeek.com/tv/game-of...howrunners-talk-season-3#.UTkcH0sQHH0.twitter
Remember those cute little dragons Daenarys Targareon used to keep around? Well they're not so cute anymore.
Can't wait. I've been rewatching Season 2 on demand and I'm finding that I like it better the second time around. I still like Season 1 better, but last year's shows are better than I remember them.
Bets they merge books 4 and 5 together (as they take place over the same chronology w/ different characters) and play the merged version over 2 seasons?
Interview footage!! Ygritte, Osha and Samwell Tarly. Bran and Jamie Lannister photo bombs!! [yt= Beyond The Wall]RDFejzSL9Uk[/yt] Just 1 week to go!!
I forget what happened in the previous seasons. Is there a "catch up" video like what they did for nuBSG?
If I don't have time to rewatch the episodes, I don't think I'd have time for the books. Besides, I'm reading a bunch of other books at the moment and need a break from staring at words.
You should be able to find something on the HBO website. A couple of Fridays ago they ran a 15-minute "what happened last season" thing.
George R. R. Martin on new books, Season 3 [yt= Game of Thrones S3]EHFOepy7rJw[/yt] Less than 1 hour to go!! I just finished eps 9 & 10 from season 2. I'm really interested to find out what's going on North of the wall and what happened to Theon Greyjoy.
Bitch needs to write faster if they hope to get to season 6 and 7 before books six and seven are out.
Sadly, GRRM is actually slowing down instead of speeding up. The last book took six fucking years to write. I thought this was funny: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CLCOvZOh1o
Book 3 came out in 2000 and ended with massive cliffhangers. Half of those were picked up in Book 4 in 2005 and the other half were picked up in 2011 in Book 5. He split Book 4 into two by region so it was 11 years before you found out what happen to Bran, Jon, Dany, and Tyrion. 11 fucking years. They're not going to pause the TV show for years to wait for him to publish Book 7. I imagine Book 6 will be finished by the time they are ready to film it.
So seasons 3 and 4 are supposed to cover book 3 and who knows if they want to break up books four and five. Right there they have this season plus 3-5 additional seasons worth of material already written. Yes, I assume he should have book six done by then especially since it was already supposedly half written by the time book five came out. That would mean they'd have a minimum of four seasons worth of material and a max of seven additional seasons. If the mother fucker can't squeeze out 1.5 books in seven fucking years there is a problem especially since so much of it is just wrapping up loose ends. The hard truth is GRRM keeps making A Song of Ice and Fire a low priority as right now he insists on being very actively involved in the writing of the TV series plus he has three other book projects going right now (he just committed to the last one recently) and he works on ASoIaF when he has nothing else going on. Add to the fact that the guy is a perfectionist, which I don't blame him as this is his magnum opus, and you can see why it has been 16-17 years since the first book was published and 22 years since he first started writing the series.
I think books 4 and 5 need to be filmed merged together as they cover the same chronology and then filmed over two seasons. Which gets us to season 6 at least so by 2017 there needs to be a new book.
I thought the season premiere flew by. It felt like it was only about 15 or 20 minutes long. It did need at least one space battle, though.
Most of it involved crying about the Season 2 finale. Nothing new happened. Well, someone lost a nipple. Wow.
They're dragging the book out over two seasons. Plus they didn't even have Arya or Bran's storyline. They're milking it.
