Tell us why you think a given book sucks. Yanno, describe the weaknesses in the plot, what bothered you about a given character arc, etc.

Well, they have quite a few problems. For example:

James Kirk: Who is this guy and how did he get command of a starship, and why does he leave the ship all the time? Real captains don't do that, and if they did they'd at least wear sensible clothing.

Spock: Why is the first officer also the science officer? The XO is usually in charge of handling personnel issues and personal problems with the crew, but he has no emotions and would thus be virtually useless in that role. Did he fail upwards or what? Second, why does an advanced intersteller exploration vessel only have one science officer? You'd think half the crew would be from JPL in Pasadena.

Sulu: Is he gay or what?

You'd have to ask Roddenberry, and you'd need a Ouija board for that. However, given GR's homophobia, I can with some certainty that Sulu isn't gay. Then again, there are a lot of fanboys who can't distinguish the actor from the role.

A good faith question makes it clear that the question itself is answerable. Otherwise (as in your case) the question itself is only phrased that way but is in fact a statement trying to make a point.

I know some of my mothers family came to Georgia as part of IIRC Ogglethorpes colony. One of my ancestors was American Indian and another was black and presumably of slave descent.

At any rate, all them would've come here BEFORE any American laws existed.
