I'm pretty much a newb but I don't care for cluttering up the Help Desk with thread after thread about policy I'd like to have 100% clarified, and I'm guessing you don't either. I'd like to ask what constitutes as "extreme racism". There's a rule against it I've only seen in the Grey Room thus far. From experience I know just how unsightly it can be but I'd like to know how many racial slurs I can get away with. Not that I'm eager to start using them or anything. Nazi glorification - From hearsay I know that WF is/was hosted on an Austrian or German server and thus couldn't have any of that stuff. Say I'm a Hindu.. can I have a swastika for an avatar? Do any possible aforementioned decency/decor standards apply to it as well? That's all I have at the moment but I would also like to ask if this thread can be kept relatively open-ended for a newcomer to ask questions as opposed to creating thread after thread.
Soma had the idea with the Hindu avatar long before you. Meanwhile we're on a US server and you can have as many nazi memorabilia in your profile as you want. And nobody ever got warned for a racial slur. The rule is about 'extreme trolling', mostly used when real life information is used against a poster, especially when collected from sources other than what the mark posted here voluntarily. ..which brings me to my next question: Any limits as to what can be posted in rep comments, and do these limitations differ from forum to forum?
Rep comments are treated the same as posts . . . if you flame someone in a comment in the Green or Blue rooms, for example, you can expect to be warned for it.
And a barrage of negative reactions...racsim is stupid and while it may be permitted, here, it's not condoned.
Tasvir has been warned for using racial slurs in Gray Room. Since Gray Room is for the discussion of other boards, there are few, if any at all, times where use of a racial slur against someone in there is acceptable flaming/trolling.
Why are you people entertaining this thread? This is the standard JV troll effort--pose a bunch of hypothetical questions about trolling to try and get something in writing to use at a later date: "But you SAID it was OK!" Just let him eat static.
So just to be clear, boards can be put down, but people can't be personally flamed? You might see how one might assume that they can't be, given the fact that trolling and flaming are frowned upon outside of the aforementioned rooms. Don't mean to nitpick, I'd just like to know if I must turn the other cheek if people exclaim "LOL, retarded like TK/TKers."
OMG you are so clever!! I can see why such a smart person would be a mod here. But the questions I ask here aren't covered in those threads, one of them being: Flaming or trolling isn't permitted outside of the the Red and Grey rooms, and starting threads and bashing other fora isn't permitted outside of the Grey room either. BUT flames/trolls RE: A person's home forum, as Face just so kindly demonstrated, does not apply? I mean just a yes or no would suffice. And please don't consider my inquiries to be constant pestering. I assure you, that isn't what I intended.
If you want to start a thread bashing/trolling/flaming another board, do so in Gray Room. Outside of Gray Room, the *occasional* comment about other boards isn't out of line.
