    Possible? How about most definitely!

    :bang:

This is a case where the majority of the voting public is fucking WRONG!!!! It's discrimination, pure and simple. I have a gay friend who has been with her "wife" for years. They recently made it official, and now the homophobic religious wack-job voters of CA have nullified their marriage.

    FUCK YOU, CA!

    This is Grade-A :bullshit:

How is it discrimination? A gay man has the same right to marry a woman that I do.

Yep. Pretty disgusting stuff. Prop 8 passed 52-48. But lawsuits have already been filed, and I doubt it'll go into effect any time soon.

I'm pretty sure ex post facto laws are unconstitutional.

Amazing how the majority can be right when we agree with them and wrong when we disagree. This is how a democracy works, even when we don't like the decision.

My fiancee's step dad officiated some same-sex weddings. He said that on the first day, a gay couple and a lesbian couple had rushed over so quickly that they had no witnesses. So the gay couple witnessed for the lesbian couple and vice-versa.

What a sad thing that we can't just let two people who love each other get married. But for as much growing up as society has done, we still have a long way to go.

So you're cool with your rights being subject to the whims of religious groups?

"Religious groups" didn't vote this in. People did.

No, I have to accept the will of the majority, just like I do with this election. If the majority agree with a group, what does that make it? No one forced anyone to vote for or against this or for Obama or for McCain. It just happened.

Religious groups wrote it, paid signature gatherers to ensure it went on the ballot, funded it, used lies and fear to promote it and harrassed those who planned to vote against it.

    But other than that...

And if the majority voted that anyone who, let's say, is a member of the religion you are a member of should be rounded up and shot, would you comply or resist?

How could I ever expect to compete with the unparalleled genius and originality of "A gay man has the same right to marry a woman that I do."?

It's completely different when gun grabber groups pour money into gun bans and confiscation schemes though, right?

That is actual rights being trampled by agenda-driven groups.

You're awfully gleeful about the idea of the sanctimonious fucktard majority voting away rights that don't affect you.

Any maps available on where the vote broke down geographically?

Rights that don't exist yet. Nor should they through the current courses of action being followed. I hold all self centered bastards like yourself in contempt when they try to do things without considering the actual consequences.

Another one who's fine with religious groups dictating who he is and is not allowed to marry. Didn't realize we had so many of those here.
