Well, good luck on your venture BD, but I think this gratuitous sales pitch is 100x more disgusting as anything Castle ever offered up, not least because of it's rather blatant nature.
I'm offering books for people to read, one of which I co-wrote. I'm proud of the books we have published and I want our authors to get the most exposure I can. If that offends you, that's your issue.
I'm perfectly fine with this and don't see it being any different than Dan Leach, for example, "advertising" that his photos were available to be ordered as prints.

I find myself in agreement with Dayton here. While the subject matter may not appeal to everyone, where's the harm in promoting one's work in a forum devoted to precisely that? @El Chup, I don't see you objecting to Paladin's art thread.
Is Paladin posting links to commercial products? When Castle posted his PayPal links it wasn't tolerated. Why is this over sales pitch ok?
For the same reason Tamar started a thread in the GR once upon a time to showcase Peter Octavian's site selling scented oils, fantasy art, and jewelry. And I'll remind you that Castle's PayPal account was only tangentially related to his book. Besides, why does any of this bother you so much?
We allowed Castle to post links to his Amazon store. Chup is remembering incorrectly. What we objected to was purchase links for vaping products he was reviewing. He claimed it was unintentional as he was copy pasting from his blog. I accepted the explanation, he didn't do it again, and that was that.

I've always supported WF posters' endeavours regardless of my opinion of them as posters. Storm, garamet and Diacanu are among the posters that have earned some kind of royalty from me.
