    Re: Goodbye Commodor Decker

I remember (vaguely) "The Farmer's Daughter" series as well as "My World and Welcome To It."
I liked him as Matt Decker, if for no other reason than the stare down between him and Spock.
But I loved him as Seth Haslett - a curmudgeonly doctor very reminiscent of Bones McCoy.
And I bet most folks (unless they are die-hard fans of the show) don't know that his first time on the show was not as Seth Haslett.

I'm just now making the connection that Captain William Decker in TMP was portraying Commodore Matt Decker's son. I was so confused because I thought it was the actor that played William Decker that died... but he couldn't have been 88 already.

    Wow. RIP. :(
