Muad Dib's time has come. All the planning, all the practice, it was all for this...

Maybe you can win this one. :bergman:

It's a preview of the battle that will commence when the planet's oil starts running dry :soma:

Perhaps the Balkanization of America and a second civil war won't happen over politics, but over water instead. There are some western states that are having the same problems, and have been for some time.

As the world population nears 10 billion, yes, water is going to be an issue to go to war over.

It is for reasons like this that I may not remain a life-long Arizona resident.

I had a bit of a religious experience when I visited my Dad in Wisconsin the first week of the year this year. It was very difficult for me to come home to AZ. Definitely gave serious thought to packing in the whole desert lifestyle to move back to the cold country.

You can move to Alpine, Arizona......plenty cold there - snow up the wazoo in that area.

I have very specific reasons for wanting to move to Wisconsin, and Alpine, Arizona is thoroughly unable to satisfy these reasons.

Plenty of water at the North Pole. I recommend melting the ice to break it into chunks and then transport it to land. Instead of Oil Tankers we could build a fleet of Ice Tankers.

Heck Global Warming is good for something after all!

    ;)

^Interestingly enough, if both ice caps melted, the ocean would be desalinized enough to drink.

It is strange then that the state with the most water, Michigan, is suffering economically.

I hate Georgia with the burning passion of 10 billion suns. I'm especially pleased that the Federal Courts jumped up and bitch slapped Atlanta on behalf of the Great States of Alabama and Florida.

Muad Dib. We will meet the invader on the outer verge of just and right defense. No quarter. Raise the black flag. Atlanta needs to be burnt once again. :bergman:

Clearly. It'd kill off a lot of sea life, but for your statement to be true, the ice caps would have to mass several times the volume of the ocean.

And just think what a sudden freshwater ocean would do to creatures that can't exist in fresh water.

No Georgian will EVER touch my beloved Tennessee River!

...Unless they pay appropriate ramp, boating and fishing license fees to the States of Tennessee, Alabama, and Mississippi and other relevant entities first.

For fuck's sake, Georgia has access to a virtually endless supply of water: the Atlantic Ocean. Just build some desalination plants and pipe it everywhere in Georgia if it's that important to the state and stop bothering other states.

God forbid Georgia simply take care of Georgia.
