I just realized yesterday was the anniversary of my making an account here to follow a banned user for his takes on the ENT finale that had aired a few days earlier. Ironically, Stewey never did get around to his final review as he was in the process of getting married but I stuck around and now I've officially been posting here for half of my life. Rep me bitches or whatever the kiddos are saying nowadays
I joined in 2010, apparently. I don't know how many years that's been because we're not allowed to do math in the Red Room.
Math in the Red Room will be allowed again once someone does the math to figure out how long ago Muad'dib started pushing up daisies. But that bit of math is not allowed
Garamet invited me over … musta been in 2005, think I checked it out, but I didn’t sign up until I got a job in 2008 after taking a few years off after my last pregnancy.
"1 Before WordForge, there was Lanzman. 2 And before Lanzman, there was WordForge. 3 Thus spaketh teh Baba 4 Amen"
I think there was one point where Wordforge was basically a four-letter word at TrekBBS. A couple people may have gotten banned just for mentioning the place. I know all of the warnings I racked up there were within the first 18 months of posting here because I started acting like a toolshed for cool points. Although, I'll never regret the week long ban I got for that "Day of the Dove" avatar when they chose to ban those instead of the user who prompted those of us in the ENT forum to start such a campaign in the first place.
I remember all the shit that was dumped on the ENT forum. But, mostly I stayed out of them. I most posted in TNZ and the lounges, then later in Misc. But, garamet and I used to talk about writing and wordforge originally was for writers and creative types. When it changed (for its own good as it’s still active) to an alternate TNZ, other writing message boards popped up. One guy, I’m still friends with on facebook ..smurfy something, I know his real name, don’t remember his username. Anyway, that’s the writing board I went to rather than here.
Oh yeah, @Aurora 's brother did open it as a writers' workshop and lent us a space somewhen shit went down other there, huh?
I signed up in 2009 but didn't post until a few years later. For me 2009 was the year of hell for me. Posting here was not a priority or even a thought.
I think I have been here since almost the very beginning. What day did the board start? I distinctly remember creating a thread about Elder Scrolls 3 sometime in late 2003 or early 2004. Any way I can still access that thread or find it in some archive? That was the gap between when I finished undergrad and when I started grad school. I had a lot of free time for gaming and posting on Wordforge during that timeframe.
I was also part of the original exodus. I still have my invitation from Cassandra/Aurora/Martokssweetheart framed above my desk.
