I mention this because apparently there's a segment of the right that's currently melting down over how disrespectful the transes are being by having their visibility day on Easter, even though Easter's the one that moves around.

Easter is a christian performative holiday anyway. It is one of those days where people who never practice christianity have a little party with non-christian icons, and mostly avoid going to church while pretending they are practicing christians.

I like how the Republicans are somehow trying to make hay out of the fact that Easter Sunday coincides with Trans Day. Biden proclaimed March 31st as Trans Visibility Day back in 2021. It has nothing to do with Easter.

Coincidentally, March 31st is also "Suck WAB's Balls Day".

There's so much hate in Christianity, just this blind rage where the focus isn't on powers and principalities, but on the oppressed, the poor, the most vulnerable. Even when I was at my most devout, and thought being gay was a sin, I couldn't ever muster actual *hate* towards the LGBTQ+ community. I remember when my church pastor (this was around 1997 or so), said "if I ever saw a fag making a pass at me, I'd kill him," to which he received many hearty shouts of 'amen!'.

Even then I knew that was wrong. It felt so awful. It made me sick to my stomach, and I realized that even if I didn't agree with them, it was important I listen to and understand gay people, if for no other reason than to offer them a safe haven from that kind of hatred. Evangelical Christianity is, in my opinion, the worst offender for this, and it's fascinating to watch people who claim to follow no religion line right up with Evangelical bigots, because even as love can bring people together in solidarity, it is also true that hate, ignorance, and bigotry is just as binding.

What a sad day to see where people should be celebrating the resurrection of their savior, they can't help but be cruel and hateful towards a group of people who Jesus would have gladly spent his time around, having dinner with them, welcoming them into his heart as loved ones.

What a twisted mockery of a human belief system. There is no pure, unfiltered hate like Evangelical Christian "love."

Eric Hoffer in "The True Believer" says it's a sad fact that religions that don't eventually take up the sword tend to die off.
He also says all the old religions that are with us today are survivor religions, and they look exactly the way you'd expect them to.
The form they start out as doesn't even matter.

Once Christianity popped its murder cherry in the time of Constantine, it was pretty much all over.

I do prefer easter candy to halloween. That is except for chocolate bunnies. Chocolate bunnies are made out of the cheapest bland old chocolate they could find. It is like getting a half rotted apple on halloween. The only good th8ing with fruit on halloween was throwing it at the house that gave it to you, or as arms against the guys who drove around in vans with crates of eggs. Yeah, my neighborhoods were tough.

OTOH I got actual gifts and money on easter. My sister got a cute dress she cried about having to wear. She needed to STFU and trade me.

I would like to thank faux news and the repugs because if it wasn't for your pissbaby meltdown I would have never known about trans day. I thought trans visibility day was every day being over 6 foot tall and really visible in a cute dress. I am not limiting myself to march 31st, but it is nice for those who might need a day to let themselves be who they are.

My trans person instruction book seems to have been lost and was probably printed before the millenial princesss version. Back in my day the pronouns were sissy boy, mary, faggot, and gaywad. Tranny was the complimentary term we called each other, and now that is a slur. Fucking millenials.

I have come to realize this is not a christian thing. This is something that is a human trait. I do not know if it is learned or just present in a certain violent form of the animal, but it is what many of us do. The torah, or old testament, is a pretty violent and cruel story. God is a petty, nasty, narcissist in that book. This is adopted into christianity and then Islam. Those views do come from previous stories of gods who could be pretty nasty and narcissistic beings themselves.

Some people take these stories and use them to inspire them to do good deeds, care for the community they are in, become philisophical, and celebrate life. Another person hears the same things and even if it is hippie jesus they want to rape god into everyone and use him as a reason they kill and beat up everything. They use god to justify and rationalize their horrible actions. When you look at the modern atheist INCEL CHUD community you see they also can use not god to justify and rationalize their horrible actions while other see not god as a good reason to get along and make the best of what you can while you are here.

In my life I have realized that god and philosophy is just a tool for rationalizing why we do good or bad things. If I harm someone, it is me. If I lift someone up, it is me. I may use god or whatever to rationalize or justify it, but it is still my choice. Don't blame god because you do nasty things, and give yourself the credit when you do something good.
