I believe there are a variety of different Hells.

Hell looks an awful lot like a red x.

Also, Hell is the absense of God. No torment, other than God's love being missing that is. The truly evil just get erased, but those that want no part of God get their wish.

Skin's got two of 'em. There's Hel -- which really ain't all that bad -- and then there's Niflheim. Definitely exothermic. You go there, and you're stuck in a blizzard for eternity. Worse yet, you can see the lights of houses and smell wood smoke -- but no matter which direction you go or how far, you never reach those houses.
