Anyone here use Hulu routinely? Do I have to pay to use it after a trial period or do I just have to join somehow?
There's a free version out there that I use all the time. All I had to do was sign up with an email address to get access to age-controlled content. There is also a paid service called (I believe) "Hulu Plus," or some such bullshit, but I've never tried it.
Basic Hulu is free, the e-mail address "account" has to do with age verification for "mature" stuff. there's a premium version you can pay a subscription for that's not unlike netflix, but the basic costs nothing.
No, I don't believe Hulu Plus offers more than Netflix does. You just get new episodes a little sooner, IIRC, and you get access to all the episodes of the show that Hulu has had access to, as opposed to just the 5 or so of each show that are available at the basic level. Might be worth paying for if you want to watch every episode of a show you might have just gotten interested in -- but their catalogue of shows is pretty far from complete, so to me paying isn't worth it.
