Star Trek reference fail. Just a heads up, this board is loaded with Trek fans and you'll probably see a lot of that sort of thing.
I'm a huge Trek fan, but I still don't recognize the reference. I guess I'm not that big of a fan LOL.
Thanks for all the greetings everyone. I'm happy to be here. I am a student of history. I have a BA in history and I spend a lot of time reading non-fiction history books. I mainly focus on early American history prior to the Civil War. I dablbe a little in Native American history as well. I also like to discuss politics, scifi, movies and tv. I hope I can get into good discussions with all of you.
Yes, I haven't seen that one in a long time. I grew up watching reruns of TOS in the 80s and I'm more familiar with TNG, but yeah, I remember that one.
@Nova, I think you can simply paste the link for the YouTube page that has the video, and the software figures it out. Yep, that works.
Really? Last several years I've been on a major Founding Fathers / Revolutionary War kick. Started with a bio of Alexander Hamilton and have since gone through most of the major founders, with brief interruptions for Robert E. Lee and Andrew Jackson. Right now I'm in the middle of an Ethan Allen bio.
Yeah, the last couple of years I've been focusing on the Constitution and constitutional issues prior to the Civil War. I haven't read any bios, but I have a couple of books on Jackson's presidency. One deals with US Indian policy and the other the politics of the time. I haven't gotten to them yet, I'm trying to go in chronological order. I also have some short books on the Civil War and some longer books on the early Republic. You're probably familiar with "Empire of Liberty"? I haven't started it yet either, but I'm working my way there. Right now I'm reading a book about states rights, then will likey move on to the Jackson books.
