I figured my dad would be dead before another presidential election. He'll be 88 in December. I thought as a gesture to him I would tell him a week from Sunday that I voted for him for president. Sure, it is simply a gesture. But........ 1) He is certainly as mentally capable and aware as President Wilson was after his stroke. 2) Sure he uses a walker, but FDR used a wheelchair so that isn't an issue. 3) He served extensively in combat during the Korean War. 4) He was elected to 4 five terms on the school board. 5) He served on various county boards and commissions 6) He is an expert in parliamentary procedure (don't know how useful but it is cool) 7) At least as educated as President Truman was. 8) Opposed the invasion of Iraq in 2003 (we differed on this). 9) No skeletons in the closet regarding personal or business life. 10) Successfully ran more than one small business.
