First off you haven’t even asked what my opinion on the whole thing is, so you have no idea

I generally find presidential pardons to be abhorrent. The idea that a president can wave a magic wand and declare criminals innocent is ludicrous (and a lot of the time the criminals are his cronies). It’s unfair and unnecessary. I’ve said this before and I’ll continue to say it

So that’s how you be consistent, kid

At the same time given your strange obsession with hunter biden over the years i have to say I’m really enjoying how emotional you’re getting over this.

Okay maybe Obama didn’t. But he’s the exception, not the rule. Bush: Iran-Contra conspirators, Bush Jr.: Scooter Libby.

Joe Biden is not the reason Hunter got to go free. Hunter had a plea deal set up. He was going to plead guilty a long time ago. Joe was not going to pardon him until this november because it would have effected his and the dems image in the election. Hunter would have paid penalties, had the record, and maybe done minimal jail time for his crime. It would have all been done and over like with Steve Bannon by the time the election came around.

The people who saved Hunter were the repugs in congress who pressured the judge to toss the plea agreement. This allowed for the same delay tactic Trump used to get off on his crimes because it allowed Hunter to prolong his trial so his sentencing fell in the area where his father could pardon him without threat. If you want to blame someone I think it was Comer and Jordan who put the pressure on the courts and quashed the plea deal in order to get hunter.

Joe didn't want the plea deal gone. The repugs did this seeing how delays would put the case in jeopardy.

Here is where the boy is really stupid. Hunter had a gun on coke. Dangerous, but it was not involved in a shooting, he just had possession. The boy was out there driving around on roads with pedestrians while wasted.

In the end the boy probably had a plea deal set up. I assume because most of the time the prosecutor will present a plea deal to avoid a longer trial and costs. Hunter also had a plea deal all set up. They are all sweetheart deals because the prosecutor just wants the conviction. Instead congress came along and pressured the court to go to trial, and the judge complied and threw the deal out IIRC.

Imagine how pissed the boy would be if Comer came to his court (I think it was him but correct with the proper name if needed) and said wait, you need to go to trial on this because we hate Federal Farmer's dad. FF would be rightfully angered.

This is the inverse 2 tiered justice system. Even a black person would have gotten a plea deal for a tax evasion and non-violent possession charge. The only reason it did not happen was the rich people decided to step in and use their power in the judicial to persecute someone, and it backfired because they forgot white, rich, and powerful makes right.

Pardons are necessary for people who truly deserve them. Hunter Biden did not and Joe Biden and is a complete hypocrite for doing this. This seems to be a hard thing for people to understand.

The only emotion I have over this is joy watching Democrats squirm because they know how bad it looks. It's also fun watching people here trying to justify it, which I noticed you haven't called them out. I also notice how you only target me and sometimes @Diacanu for being partisan, but you don't call out others for the same. Lastly, you say I have an obsession with Hunter Biden, yet I didn't even start this thread, I simply posted news stories just like other people do when there's a big news story. I'm hardly ever the one who bumps the thread. There are multiple threads about Trump that multiple people respond to on a daily basis, yet you don't call them out as being obsessed. There are people here who post memes about Trump almost daily that has been going on for nearly a decade, yet I don't see you calling those people obsessed. You only ever attack me, @Diacanu and occasionally @Tererune . It appears to me that you aren't as consistent as you claim to be.

Oh Hunter Biden deserves the pardon. The gun law he’s being prosecuted under is probably unconstitutional, and the tax charge is clearly politically motivated. People just do not get charged with criminal failure to pay taxes charges after they’ve already paid them with all penalties and interest. But there’s also no question it’s a bad look (but Biden DGAF, and why should he? It’s clear this sort of thing doesn’t matter anymore if it ever did) and a broken promise. But I don’t think it’s a broken convention or norm at all.

Do people often get pardons for all crimes over an eleven year period? That seems a little weird considering that period covers the time in question where Joe Biden lied about not talking to his son about his business dealings.

Not all of those refer to the president's son by name. Ten is a drive by poster, he does this shit to stir up shit, he doesn't post to have a conversation.

    But sure, here you go.

There’s no Vice Presidential immunity. If Joe Biden actually did do anything wrong that Hunter was involved in, Hunter can now be compelled to testify about it, which he wouldn’t have had to (under the 5th amendment) otherwise. This is a pretty strong signal that either Joe Biden is innocent of wrongdoing in connection with his son, or this is the greatest self-owning pardon in history. I don’t think it’s the latter.

That’s a weird definition of humiliation. No one’s resigning over reporting that Biden said (and probably believed, at the time) that he wouldn’t pardon Hunter, any more than your local meteorologist resigns after failing to report on a surprise change in the winds the day before. It’s hard to see that even any self-reflection would have led to a different, better outcome. They didn’t have control over whether Biden pardoned Hunter.

Joe Biden should maybe find this humiliating, but the media for reporting that he wasn’t going to? I’m not seeing it.

I'm not surprised that you don't see it. Sonny Hostin had to be noted twice for making false accusations about Matt Gaetz and Pete Hegseth on The View with a pissed off look on her face. I'd call that humiliating. A lot of them are getting community noted on X.
