I'm gonna bring this up again. I really think we should consider a community forum that is RR rules. RR Rules threads all over the boards is unacceptable, IMO. Messy and a potential staff nightmare. It would be nice to see the RR function closer to it's room description. But clearly, people want to be able to talk about anything while being assholes about it. What are you gonna do? These are our customers and if we don't at least try to provide an answer we are just going to lose more posters. So I think we should have a forum for the community/self-referential spam/parodies/trolling.
Stop moving threads out of the Red Room. Problem solved. Of course, then the usual suspects would bitch about too much spam cluttering up the place, but eh? Whaddayagonnado?
There would've been no need for compromise if we'd just gone about redirecting threads without making a grand announcement. IMO.
I redirect boring ass weather threads, and media central threads. Before the announcement even. What I'm saying is that an announcement wasn't even necessary, IMO. Just do it. But some people run off and make proclomations thinking the kids will snap in line. Either that or they like the drama...
Hmm. Still can't find the "proclaimation" in there. Granted, it got more proclaimy later, but the intent wasn't anything of the sort.
Elwood did his mass move to get the Red Room mods attentions, and let us know his opinion, he didn't feel the need to post it outside of the Shelter. It was being handled internally, now it's a "DRAMA". Once again a problem that would've sorted itself out quietly takes on a life of it's own. Where none existed before.
