How long can a Laptop run before problems ocur

I went out and bought a TV Tuner for my Laptop, and after watching several programs "one behind the other", I couldn't help but notice just how much time was spent looking at this thing. When I went to take it down, the fans were blowing hot air out of it like crazy.

It doesn't appear to be damaged or anything, but whats the most amount of time I can spend looking at this thing before I can start to expect problems.


Mind you that it was not running off the battery, it was plugged in to the wall!

A cooling tray is something I recommend to every lap tap owner. They're not very expensive and they will help prevent overheating. Some of the cooling trays also include multiple usb ports, which can be a real convenience.
