Early voted in Austin, TX. The voting office was a minute from my home and there was no line. Super quick and easy. Should be like that nationally.

Oh, then definitely ballot-drop off. As far as the mail-in "tracking" if it doesn't show up as being mailed will there be time to rectify it, vote again, and have your vote make it to the destination in time?
Maybe to me it seems a few sets of hands are involved in this process - more links in the chain to break, thus my paranoia about not voting in person.

reports on Twitter today of 2,500 in line in Cincinnati, lots of feedback around the country of voters declining to vote early because of the lines.

Republicans are always happy when fewer people vote.

Indeed, they have e-mails in NC that the court considered where the GOP legislators specifically said "early voting on Sunday tends to be mainly black and Democrat so we need less Sunday voting"

Make voting a week long event from Sunday to Saturday.

    Problem solved.

Also, automated vote registration with your photo ID renewal.

That's pretty much what early voting is here, and then some. Early voting sites are open for 12 consecutive days (including a Saturday and Sunday) prior to the election day.

I thought this was pretty standard these days. I haven't had to make an effort to register since the 1994 midterms.

    Fine with me.

Only if your ID is tied to proof of citizenship.

Right now there are states that want to hand out ID to illegals.

Oh and are you planning on making this ID free?

Yeah, I voted early, polling place is 5 minute drive and the line was short.

Cincinnati is heavily favored for Hillary. Where I live, though, is Trump town, right down to the plywood, spray painted "VOTE TRUMP!" sign sitting next to the main road.

Now I'm concerned the lines here will be massive on Election Day.

Were you voting or ordering a pizza?

Like Tafkats said, I like the ritual of going to the polls on election day. Plus, the school is always having a bake sale that day, so I get cookies.

I've already voted. Twice. Drove down to Buffalo.

Since your country doesn't have voter ID laws (some dumbass nonsense about a poll tax) I just gave a bullshit address and had my other buddy -- who's also Canadian -- vouch for me.

    God Bless America!

Happily, you largely failed at that. But good news!--you get to keep your job, making fries at Burger King with your BA--until Measure 97 comes through and Burger King closes up in Oregon/builds fry-making robots. :bergman:

Never worked at BK, I haven't worked fast food for over two years now, I have a BSc, not a BA, and, as you apparently haven't noticed, M97 failed. :async:
