Who had "overdosed on opioids" in the dead pool? That's how they offed her character in the first episode of The Connors. Meanwhile John Goodman has lost so much weight that he looks like he's about to drop dead too. The show goes on, and Laurie Metcalf was the highlight yet again. Mary Steenbergen got really old too.
I was pretty her character would be killed off, any other way of having her leave the show would not work. I was thinking she would have died during her knee surgery, which is where the previous episode had left off. Dan had been able to get the funds needed to cover her surgery through the money they got from the hurricane (?) damage. The other way I thought they would have killed her off was her overdosing. They had her stockpiling a lot of pills the same episode or a previous. Either one is more realistic, it does happen, and also happens more with people in her situation. They get drugs from where they can, and get dependent on them. And due to the struggles to get meds they need, they can't get help when they get addicted.
speaking of overdosing, I have a medical "procedure" tomorrow and because I was hard to control under light sedation (I tried to warn them, but they wouldn't listen) so now they are going to double down and give me fentanyl. They claim I won't be able to go back to work for the rest of the day, so I have to eat some vacation time. I might go bow hunting instead if I can convince my wife I'm able to function enough.
The episode made me glad that the actors didn't have to suffer for Roseanne's mistake. History says shows with such a drastic direction change don't have long shelf lives, but I'd be glad for The Connors to be an exception.
Ummm . . . no. That's a really bad idea. You might want to spend the rest of that day watching Teletubbies or something rather than launching high-speed pointy objects at things.
