Because to someone on the extreme left, anyone who's not there with them is a fascist. In reality, there are very few fascists to have a movement against.
You mean the liberal idiots who yell in people’s faces as they walk down the street, the same people that attack reporters and wear masks, those people?
too many conservatives are grown up law abiding job holders who want to stay that way? Alluding to post #2 I've spent decades of boots-on-the-ground fighting fascism, communism, and other assorted "isms" so I don't see how I could bring any more to the table in this regard, other than make successful copies of myself as replacements, which my wife and myself have done twice.
Yes. And unfortunately the only people who protected persecuted minorities from violent fascists in several recent instances. Given the right's insistence on protecting the Constitution at the point of a barrel, you'd think they'd be the ones up in arms when the government kills children in concentration camps. Only you wouldn't, because you have long realized they're liars.
"when the government kills children in concentration camps" - K indeed, Hitler was a bastard and every other place in recent history (the Balkans, various unstable African nations, etc.) that has experienced killing children in concentration camps. Sadly you can't differentiate (or understand the concepts of scale & context) between what is happening on our southern US border and the examples I gave.
*Final Jeopardy theme ends* Okay, everyone put your pens down. We've got "socialists are fascists". Wrong! That's not knowing how words even work. We've got "liberals are definition meanies". As mean as caging kids? Yeah, you lose. We've got "Here's my green Army card that gets me out of everything". Nope! Fail! And we've got "here's why Antifa stinks!". Nope, that wasn't even the question, that's a dodge. Fail! You all blew it. You get Turtle Wax and Rice A Roni.
So you posed a question that only you know the answer to. I provided an answer which is true, but you simply don’t like the answer.
it's so quaint when the guy who builds his authority on EVERY subject from the vantage point of being inside the box tries to explain things only visible from being outside of it to the rest of us. bro, you may think you were fighting against oppression, but in the era of you being in the military, it seems all you were doing was propping up or installing new puppets and dictators more friendly to (corporate) American interests. also, given your previously mentioned specializations, it seems a bit disingenuous to compare your experience as ground support with someone like Anc who was actually on the ground.
I wasn't "ground support" I was in a tactical air traffic control/aviation unit. So yeah, I was actually on the ground and in the air sometimes quite far "forward" of any established security. Regardless just by serving in the military in any capacity regardless of the mission(s) I am indeed fighting oppression if only from the perspective of the US needing a strong & ready military because without one we (and Canada) would be fucking toast. You think if the US were taken over we wouldn't see some real oppression? Newsflash if we were taken over it wouldn't be by "nice guys". And we can't wait until the shit hits the fan to join up and fight because it takes years to master your craft in today's very complex warfare. But it's cool to know that we never had to endure this while I (or my son) served honorably. So you think nobody should join/serve in the US military at this point in time because all we do is support corporate interests? Not having a US military would make for an interesting book, TV show or movie but I wouldn't want to have to live through it. But it's cool to know that we never had to endure this while I (or my son) served honorably.
We've all heard of Antifa, but this thread is ostensibly about actual anti-fascist movements. Try again.
Assuming you mean "very few" . . . unfortunately that just isn't the case. Nationalist, authoritarian factions are coming to power all over Europe. Across the world, strongmen tighten their grip. The dictator of Russia says Liberalism is dead, the President of the United States agrees with him, and the least troubling explanation is that he just didn't know what "Liberalism" means in that context. No, the fascist threat is definitely growing. Time to take off the rosy goggles.
Fascism is what happens when capitalists abandon legality, when their power is threatened and so forth. As every historical example shows. Unsurprising then, that so-called "conservatives" fail to oppose it.
Fun fact. Neo-Nazism started up in Germany right after the war. As did anti-fascist gangs. One anti-fascist gang member was a barber who brought his razor to the fights. He founded Vidal Sassoon. Oh, shit! Vidal Sassoon is Antifa!!! Another fun fact. A very healthy fascist movement also started up in Briton after the war. Y'know, Briton, one of the clean pure good guys. Whoops, guess not so pure. Guess that explains Brexit. That xenophobic bullshit didn't come out of nowhere after all. Anyway, a big uptick in Jewsih immigration to the US in the early 50's tracks well with their rise. That didn't come out of nowhere either.
You do realize he wasn't a reporter but was definitely a fascist, right? Unless having a Twitter account and doxxing seriously injured antifa members makes someone a reporter now.
You think Asians can't be fascist? And if you think gays can't be fascist, Milo Yiannopoulos might have something to say about that.
