I wasn't "ground support" I was in a tactical air traffic control/aviation unit. So yeah, I was actually on the ground and in the air sometimes quite far "forward" of any established security. Regardless just by serving in the military in any capacity regardless of the mission(s) I am indeed fighting oppression if only from the perspective of the US needing a strong & ready military because without one we (and Canada) would be fucking toast. You think if the US were taken over we wouldn't see some real oppression? Newsflash if we were taken over it wouldn't be by "nice guys". And we can't wait until the shit hits the fan to join up and fight because it takes years to master your craft in today's very complex warfare.
