In the Red Room because it actually gets worse than the first. http://www.aintitcool.com/node/49927 Clearly this film is a modern retelling of... um... a social commentary on... uh... hmm... maybe it should be banned.
Considering that the BBFC authorised the release of Nine Songs, which included real sex and a cumshot, I really don't see what the big deal is here.
Yeeaah, the Brits have been pussies about film for a long time going back. Well, their stupid film board, anyway. Australia is the only western country that's been worse, at least off the top of my head. I'm a fan of the first, so I gotta see the second. And, Tom Six said all along he was out to top the first, so he does, and people cry? Tch, he told ya. As for any moral grounds.. "There is no such thing as a moral or an immoral book. Books are well written or badly written". - Oscar Wilde That updates to movies easily enough. It's not fucking real, it's a fucking story. Get over it.
They are idiots. Apparently these old fools do not realise that the days of a censor board being able to almost totally stop proliferation of a film are long gone. "It's the internet stupid!" I never watched HC1 and I have no intention of watching HC2 but anyone who wants it will get it fairly easily. Either by ordering a copy online from a non-uk distributor, or by straight up piracy.
That said, and while I don't think it should be banned, I thought that the first film was poor, and that the whole thing is incredibly tasteless.
It's the violent aspect of it. Even people okay with both sex and violence separately tend to not be cool with it when the two are combined. So sex, cool, rape, especially rape involving barb wire, not so much. That being said, I don't believe in censorship and I think the movie should be made to fail all on its own. Personally I find censorship boards as offensive as anything any movie like this can dish out. Yeah, that's right, I said it, censorship boards are as offensive as Human Centipede.
[YT="Yeah, well..."]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWdd6_ZxX8c[/YT] Besides, Barb Wire was plenty offensive, too.
No, I'm in full agreement with Captain X's original statement. Rape involving Barb Wire is not at all cool.
Well, that seems to be what these movies are about, finding some deep biological button that makes you squirm, and jabbing it for horror effect. Ass to mouth bothers us, thus the success of the first one, now the next button is painful sex. Hmm, wonder how he'll up the ante for 3... How about forced to choose between a marathon screening of "Sex & The City", plus the movies, or papercuts on the eyeballs. Yeah, that'd be bad.
I find "shock me" movies to be thoroughly uncreative and unimpressive. It's like a little kid trying to gross out the other kids in class.
Well, you haven't seen the flick, it's not JUST that. The fuckin "Saw", movies are JUST that, "Human Centipede", had some other stuff going on, foremost was an excellent performance by Dieter Laser as the crazy scientist. Good cinematography too, the thing looks gorgeous. I dunno, the next one might jump the shark, but the first one definitely wasn't hack stuff. I consider myself a connoisseur of the horror genre, I'm insulted you apparently think so lowly of my level of discernment. It's one of the very few things I pride myself on.
Dude, I am not subjecting myself to people sewn ass-to-mouth because the rest of the film may be well-executed.
This is what I said about the original in the Blu-Ray thread... It definitely was a creepy and compelling film, not good so much as...effective. It's not something I want to watch again real soon, but the experience of watching it the first time was definitely worthwhile. I suppose I could give the sequel a shot... And as far censorship? Forget about it. I'm a free individual and I wish to see the work of other free individuals. I don't need or want some third party with its own interests and failings intervening in that. Their "protection" is not needed for myself, nor would I ever vest that power in them to protect society on my behalf. There's literally NOTHING you can show me on film that will take away my status as a free, autonomous, self-responsible human being. But censorship does that right from the get-go...
I was disturbed by the mere trailer of the first film, and I won't be watching this, either. But I don't see the point in censoring it. Let everyone decide for themselves.
Yeah, the more you censor shit, the more people want to see it. It's like when I was a kid and my mom would ban us kids from watching "Ren and Stimpy." Then, I grew up and saw the show, and realized the only reason I wanted to see it was because I couldn't. Let the free market decide.
Who in the fucking hell would even want to see this shit? Tell you what, show it. Show it everywhere and take down the names of everyone that goes to see it and keep that list safe. Maybe even publish it. A nice list of people you might want to keep your eye on or a go-to list anytime some fucked up crime happens in their vicinity. I mean... goddamn! Bring the asteroid! We are cooked. In my opinion, people who get off on watching this shit are not much different than little kids who torture animals. Something is wrong with them.
