Submitted for your consideration and comment....they purposely excluded cartoon/Saturday morning themes for some reason.

    50. Beverly Hills 90210 - STRONGLY disagree
    49. Rawhide- agree
    48. The Odd Couple - agree
    47. Fresh Prince - agree
    46. The A Team - yup
    45. Dallas - ought to be much higher
    44. Barny Miller - I can go along with this
    43. Twin Peaks - can't remember it
    42. Bonanza - yeah
    41. All in the Family - suppise so.
    40. The X Files - suited the show
    39. The Love Boat - If taken as pure cheese
    38. Lavern & Shirley - overrated
    37. Miami vice - cool
    36. Differ'nt Strokes - weren't most all these pretty much the same?
    35. Dr. Who (Baker era) - oh yeah!
    34. Sanford and Son - absolutely
    33. Seinfield - meh
    32. The Cosby Show - the constant variations make this memprable
    31. SWAT - I always thought this was just ordinary
    30. Green Acres - agree
    29. Mr. Ed - of course of course
    28. I Love Lucy - now this is just congratulating the song cause of the status of the show
    27. WKRP - oh but yes, ought to be higher.
    26. Happy Days - well....okay, not a big deal, maybe in the 40's
    25. Dukes of Hazzard - Well hell, it's Waylon ain't it?
    24. Beverly Hillbillies - no doubt
    23. Batman - oh please.
    22. Magnum P.I. - okay i guess.
    21. Three's Company - Heck no!
    20. The Andy Griffith Show - got to give props for pulling off the whistling thing.
    19. My Three Sons - maybe near bottom of list.
    18. Dragnet - hardly any song here
    17. the Addams Family - top 10 material
    16. Greatest American Hero - good stuff
    15. Taxi - I can see this being on this list though prob not this high
    14. The Jeffersons - best of the sitcome cheese
    13. Seseme Street - oh lets get real. It's fun and all but...
    12. Mary Tyler Moore Show - how can this not be in the top 10?
    11. Peter Gunn - good tune
    10. The Brady Bunch - credit where due but way too high
    9. The Twighlight Zone - yeah.
    8. The Muppet Show - oh yeah!
    7. Hill Street Blues - good stuff
    6. Gilligan's Island - meh.
    5. Mission Impossible - yup
    4. Star Trek - duh.
    3. Hawaii Five-O - certianly they have the top five down
    2. M*A*S*H - might should have been #1
    1. Cheers - but this is a pretty good choice too.

Omissions of fthe top of my head that I would have listed:

Johnny Yuma, the Rebel - come on dudes! how can you not include CASH?
Mavirick - I liked it a lot myself
Gunsmoke - anything that ran for 20 years has a recognizable theme.
Dick Van Dyke Show - much better than Lucy, IMO.
The Rockford Files - surely top 20 material!
Kolchack the Night Stalker (original) - yeah, short term shows get no love but it was good.
The Waltons - come on, say what you will about the show but this is a classic!
Movin On - Haggard. Nuff said.
Moonlighting - Smooth jazz. Got to be on the list.
    Hogan's Heroes - who doesn't love this?
    Firefly - it was good.
    Stargate SG1 - nice fanfare
ST: TNG: lifted from the film but very good rousing music
The Tonight Show (Johnny's Theme) - got to give credit where due.
St. Elsewhere - don't remember it like I should but I'm sure it was memorable. (yes I know that's a contridiction)

I'm sure I'll be repping a ton of stuff i've forgotten to mention.

Stargate SG-1 and TNG's theme's probably weren't on there specifically because they were lifted from movies, though in SG-1's case, not very well.

Also, I'd add Monk for the first couple of seasons, not the one with Randy Newman, just because it fit the show so well.

    My top 10?

    1. Hawaii Five-O. That theme absolutely rocks and it suits the show perfectly.

    2. Mission Impossible. Just misses the top slot. If Peter Graves had Jack Lord's hair, it mighta made it.

    3. In Search Of... It's been years since I saw that old show, but the theme song remains vivid.

    4. Married with Children. It says a lot when a Frank Sinatra song instantly calls to mind a sitcom.

    5. Speed Racer. "He's gainin' on you so you better look alive..."

    6. Taxi. 'Angela' (the theme song) is a beautiful piece of work and it conveys the mood of the show well.

    7. The Greatest American Hero. "Look at what's happened to me, I can't believe it myself..."

    8. The Dukes of Hazzard. It's hard not to smile when I hear that theme song because it captures the essence of the show perfectly.

    9. WKRP. Ditto.

    10. Emergency! Every time I hear it, I'm four years old and want to be a fireman!

Sheesh, I always remember other ones I liked after I compile my list.

V, MacGyver, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, Battlestar Galactica (!!!), Voyagers!, Fantasy Island, SuperFriends, Baretta, The Streets of San Francisco, Perry Mason (can't believe that didn't make the top 50 list), Charlie's Angels, The Six Million Dollar Man...

V...I just watched that whole enterprise on DVD from the first miniseries through the increasingly lame series last month when I was sick.

I wonder how the V: The Second generation sequel/remake is progressing...I know the book comes out in October.

I think it's the drum. Plus, having the whole origin in the intro makes the show more accessible to new viewers.
And that changing number in the lower right -- don't know wtf it means, but it's:cool:.

    Probably my favorite.
