Hey guys, I wanted to toss up an automatic image resizer, so that people who post giant images will have them automatically scaled down upon posting. I can implement it immediately. If you do want something like that, what dimension would you prefer? I usually stick to 900px, but it's not my board.
Sounds like a good idea, not sure what kind of difference there is between 900 and 800, but since we are used to no resizing, why don't we start with the larger dimension for now.
I've added it to the Starscape theme. To get a good idea of how it looks like before and after, go to the desktop wallpaper thread, see how that looks, and then switch it over to the Starscape theme to see how it looks after.
800x600 is a standard web size. Less important that it was several years ago due to the improvements in monitors and their increasing size, but it makes a good size for images since it allows for other elements on a page without having to scroll sideways (a big no-no from a useability perspective).
It looks like there's a side effect. On the mobile version, images used to automatically resize to the width of the screen. Now I can only see a little sliver of the left part of each image, and I can't zoom in or out.
Okay, now try it. I've set it up so that the image should be something akin to a postage stamp, but upon clicking it, expands to full size. I tested it on my 7" Android 2.2 tablet, and it seemed to work. Let me know how it's working on your end.
Looks good. On my tablet it's about 2oo pixels wide, and tapping the image fully expands it. Tapping it again brings it back to thumbnail size.
Working the same way on my phone. We should announce this so that people know about tapping the image, etc. John, since you put it together, you should make the announcement/take the credit.
Oh, I'll take the credit. Take the credit for good. [/maniacal laugh] Seriously, though, I'll post the update. Where are we posting updated information? Help Desk?
Yeah, that's a good question. I'd like to see the Helpdesk become more than what it is. It should be the go to place for all info about Wordforge, not just complaints or the occasional tech assistance. Why don't you put it there, and at some point maybe we'll give a different name to the place.
